Lousy...

...is how I feel. I woke up last night with a very sore throat... Curt brought home some drops for me but they did not seem to help. So after he got settled in from work, I went to the clinic... I was convinced that I had Strep Throat. I have had it in the past and felt just like I did before. The strep test came back negative and I was sent home with a scrip for lydocaine, the kind that you swish and swallow. After Mason and I got up from nap we went to get this so called miracle number... I got home and I was dying to try it because my throat felt like it was ripping with every swallow... PAINFUL. I cracked that baby open and poured it into the teaspoon- THICK, was the only words to describe this medicine. The directions said to swish and gargle. All I could think at this point was, "this is going to be interesting..." Lets just say (sparing the yucky details) it was interesting, yucky and not very easy to swish and gargle. I got some to the back of my throat and it helped for about 3 hours. I am not really sure that I will be using that stuff again. It just depends on how I feel...

Oh, and why is it that when husbands get sick the wives always try so hard to make them feel better, even if it is not exactly what we want to do at the time. I kind of think of it as "treat others how you want to be treated kind of thing..." This concept seems so hard for my husband. God love him, but one whimper from me or one thought of being sick and he is trying to get an estimation from me how long I think I will be sick... Seriously? What happened to the kiss on
the forehead with a little, "honey, can I get you something to make you feel better?" I know this is a "man-drome" and that my sweet honey is not the only man in the world to act like this when the wife is sick... I think maybe he sees me getting sick and thinks, "oh hell, how am I going to do all of this and take care of the kid and her (I am not an easy sick person)...? Bless his heart I know he means well....

Well, I am off to take some ibuprofen and a bath... Hopefully I will have sweet dreams.
