brothers {Photo Story Friday}

Never mind that Mason looks like he is choking Miles in this picture.
I would like to pretend that he is just trying to show him some brotherly love.

But in this picture it looks like he is enjoying him...
Mason has this thing for empty laundry baskets.
It is a bad idea for anyone (me) to leave a laundry basket with clothes in it, especially if they are clean.
But, never mind that it ended like this.
And- YES- I took a picture of it...
I am just that kind of Mom...

*no baby was harmed in the taking of these pictures...

{Just Another Perk}

Picnik is awesome!
I am making a digital scrapbook for both of the boys.
It is so easy, I almost hate to share how I did it.
You know, so you will think I am some awesome digital scrapbooker.
But, I am honest like that.
I want everyone to know how crazy awesome Picnik is.
* I swear picnik does not pay me to tell y'all about them... It would be nice if they did.

One Proud Aunt

Brand spanking new and simply amazing.
Baby Liam is beautiful and wonderful and so very perfect.
I ♥ ed holding him and just loving on him.
He looks just like his Daddy.
And my favorite part....
... his nose looks just like my sisters.
Sweet Ella Gracin.
She is a mess.
I just ♥ this little traveler.
Never still, sassy, beautiful, her Mamma's mini version and my only niece.
She can hang with the boys.
She plays with Mason's cars.
She enjoyed feeling Miles' squishy cheeks.

90 {Photo Story Friday}

Meet Maw-Maw, Curt's Great Grandmother.
She is 90 Years old.
We finally made it to her house to get some pictures with the "5 Generations".
She also finally got to meet Miles.

Curt, Penny (Gran), Faye (Mammie), MawMaw, Mason & Miles.
When you think about what 5 generations of a family means, it is really an amazing thing.

My boys and their MawMaw.

She was tickled to have everyone there.

My sweet family with MawMaw.

MawMaw still lives on her own, still cooks, sews & takes care of herself.

I only hope I can be so lucky to be in such great shape and get to see my great-great grandchildren.

What an amazing life she must have led.

Gran, MawMaw & Mammie.

Don't they just look great?

And I just had to post one of my sweet little man wearing his Daddy's hat.

He's Here!!!!

Liam Grant Elliott
My first nephew, born Tuesday, February 16th, 2010!!!!

Liam

My first nephew Liam will be born today, they are inducing!
My sister wanted me to paint some canvases for his bedroom, like I have done before HERE.
I am not a super great painter.
I know a lady who is a fabulous canvas painter if anyone is ever interested.
She rocks my socks off.
Any-hoo, I was sick over these canvases.
I had no idea what I was going to do.
Not to mention, my sister is very traditional in her style and does not like themes.
The nursery is beautiful, but no themes.
I don't blame her, it is so much easier that way.
I woke up from a dead sleep with the idea for this project.
I thought, "I have a embroidery machine that would do a great job!"
I also felt like this was a gift that Liam could keep for years to come.
I had only enough fabric to use, it was cutting it close.
I used varying sizes to give it a fun feel.
I like them stacked like this, but they are not put together so she can hang them separately or stack them on a dresser or a shelf.

It took a lot of time, but it was worth it.
I hope she likes them.
I cannot wait to meet my new sweet nephew, Liam.
The boys and I are going this weekend to visit him, pictures to follow next week sometime!

Great Company

Anyone who has moved knows that it is hard to make new friends. Especially if you move somewhere that the majority of the population is retired...

I love it here, but was really missing that connection with other ladies. Ladies who had kids my age, who like to craft and enjoyed all the stuff I enjoy...

To make a long story short, Curt's Mammie was in the vet's office and Lisa (pictured with me above) was also there. She has 2 little boys around the same ages as my boys. Mammie started talking and told her about me. They exchanged numbers and the rest is history.

She also has 2 other friends, Erin and Heather. I am so lucky that she is sharing them with me... They are all such awesome ladies and we have had a great play date with the kiddos already and we also enjoyed GNO on Tuesday night.

It snowed 2 inches during the 2 hours we were submersed in Hobby Lobby... Lisa said, "Great, the one time a year we get out of the house to have fun, it snows...!" We were stuck in traffic a while and it took forever to get home because I drove super slow. It was a fabulous time and I cannot wait until next time!!!

My Love; Valentine's Day 2010

Curt and I were fortunate this year, we got a super long Valentine's date... That is very rare, we never like to leave the boys. This year we are fortunate enough to live close to Mammie, she came over and took charge.

We started out the day early, we had lunch at a local pizza joint. It was fun, relaxed and it was so us. If you know what I mean? We chatted and laughed and just enjoyed each others company. It was really lovely.

Then, we high-tailed it out of there because we were on a schedule. We had planned to go and watch not one, but two movies. Yes, we are crazy like that. When we dated, we were always at the movies. I guess we had lots of time and money to waist on things like that. Now, it is rare to get to see an adult movie, so we decided on two movies. We saw Legion and Avatar. They were both great movies and it was so nice to snuggle up, hold hands and lean my head on his shoulder...

I thought it would be fun to whip out the camera. You know, I needed documentation. After all, I had my hair fixed and make up on and we hardly ever get a picture with just us. He obliged for a bit but finally said, "Ok, please put that thing away, people are staring at us."

Curt,

You are such an amazing man. I am so glad that I get to spend my life with you. This Valentine's Day was the best. No fuss, no frill- just us. You make me smile when I need it, you make me laugh all the time and you make me one happy gal. I love these rare dates, they make me appreciate the time we get alone- just us together!

XOXOXOXO-
Leslee

Valentine's Week 2010 {PSF}

I hope we got everyone in... We had fun writing his name on all of his Valentines... It would not have been complete with out a trip to the mail box and lots of questions about what happens to mail after you put it in the box....
I am so lucky to have 2 handsome little men and 1 big hunky man to spend my Valentine's Day with...
Also lucky that Curt is off this weekend and we have a Mammie who is coming over to watch our little ones so we can flirt, kiss, snuggle and enjoy a nice date...

He Says...

I gave Miles one of Mason's toys...

Mason noticed, he started freaking out!!!

I mentioned to him that he was not even playing with it...

He started crying, like normal when he has to share...

I told him that it was so nice that he was sharing with his brother and I pointed out how much Miles was enjoying his toy....

I was hoping that would make it better....

NOT!!!

He said, "If I share it with him, that means there is none for me.... Mom, that is just not right..."

{We are seriously working on the whole sharing thing. Miles is getting so big and Mason does not even want Miles playing with Miles' toys... He thinks they are all his. I knew this day would come, I am sad that it is here... I so wish he could just share on his own and we did not have to have daily struggles.... I guess Mason just feels invaded because from here on out he will be sharing everything... It did help that we got a HUGE basket and we went around putting all of the toys that Miles could not have, only Mason... They were all things that would hurt Miles. I am hoping this also helped to make him more aware of things that Miles cannot play with because he is too small...}

Magic Shoes {Wordful Wednesday}

Miles has a tid bit of a short tendon in both of his heels. I thought he just had short, fat feet. Not so much the case. He saw a therapist after his 4 month appointment to determine the amount of intervention he would need. The therapist felt that his feet only needed exercises and to wear some special shoes every day. So, while he is not learning to walk yet, he is already wearing some "walking" shoes. They do not seem to bother him one bit, I actually think he likes them. We are already seeing a huge improvement.

When she said special shoes, I thought Forrest Gump, you know when he says, "Mamma says theys magic shoes." Pretty sure that was the right movie... Well, he is not needing the care that Forrest did, but if the outcome is the same, that would be great too!!!
I think they are adorable and Miles seems to love them. I have always hated these ugly white shoes that Stride Rite makes for kids. I always thought they could have done such a better job at the design, I mean maybe some color or something that matches everything.

Now they mean something different for me. It is not all about how they look, it is what they are doing for sweet baby Miles...

"Mamma says theys magic shoes..."

**Did you also notice that in the first picture that Miles is sitting unassisted???? That was a little something special he did for me this morning.... It lasted a whole 30 seconds...

Everything In Sight.

Nothing is safe.
I mean, NOTHING!

My grocery bag fell victim.

Now, everyone will know who I am... I only wish the font was a bit bigger.

CPL
Curtis & Leslee Phillips

I love these two colors together.

4"x4" P on a snugly fleece throw...

I am loving my software. Like I said, nothing is safe. I have had a great time and am finding some new and fun gift ideas for friends and family!

1. Personalized grocery tote. Great gift idea for a teacher, friend, sister, grandmother, mom... Way cooler than those ugly ones that say "Wal-Mart", right?

2. Personalized wash cloth and towel set. A great house warming gift, wedding gift. Wow, you could even do them for children. I think Mason and Miles will have their own sets very soon.

3. Personalized throw. A great gift for anyone, I mean we all like our names... Personalized stuff is so hot, mine is going in the car for the kiddos, or maybe even me if we are on a road trip... We always seem to need a blanket with little ones around.

I hope you like, more to come... Working on a special project as I am writing this.

owls.com

Mason just crawled up in my lap and said:

"Mommy, will you give me a great, BIG, hug?"

I said:

"Of course sweetie, I love you!" I squeezed him tight!

He replied with:

"Now that I gave you the best hug, could you help me go to Owls.com on your cool compeeeter?"

Me thinking:

"Well, I guess that is a good trade."

*Mason is "in" with the trends of late, he is obsessed with owls. As it turns out, so do a ton of other people on youtube.... So it really works out for him.

Cabin Fever

During the recent snow/ ice storm we had lots to do.
We still have all kinds of Christmas presents to play with.

Tinker Toys were one of them.

We get them out only with supervision.
We do have a baby now who will put anything in his mouth.
Pretty much this is how it goes:
He tells me what to build and I build it!
I think he is going to make a great boss one day!
Then he gets to play with it and take all of the credit...
Like I said, he will make a great boss one day!

Then, he leaves me with a huge mess...

.... and he heads downstairs to show his Daddy and take more credit for this awesome contraption!
