Mason,
You are more than just a rough-and-tumble toddler, you are all these things and many, many more.
Love you to the moon and back,
Mommy

Busy Weekend....

This weekend was so busy, but so fun. We saw almost every member of our immediate/ extended family. Here is the run-down....

Friday- Mammie { Curt's Grandmother} cam up and spent some time with Curt and Mason while I was at work. Then Curt and Mason took a nap and she and I went to the store. Thanks, Mammie. You are truly appreciated.

Saturday- We met Gran {Curt's Mom} in Dickson for a pic-nik and to pick up a motorcycle. It was a fun visit and Mason had a blast with Gran. She brought him some of his favorite digger/ tractors. They have not left his hands since we got back. He even took a nap with one yesterday... I could not convince him to put the tractor to bed, he had his mind made up...

Sunday- My parents {Nonnie & Grandpa} and Aunt Katie & Uncle J {my sister and her new hubbie} came up for the day. We ate a wonderful lunch and when Mason went down for a nap, Grandpa took a nap too and Mom, Katie, Jeremy and Curt and I took off to the pool for some much needed tanning. I never get to tan when I am at the pool with Mason, I do lots of chasing and we normally never stay for any longer than 45 minutes... He is so fair and I get tired of chasing him around. But he really loves to swim, so when he woke up Nonnie and Grandpa brought him down to the pool so he could show off his mad swimming skills... He is such a little stunt man... He calls swimming "mimmin" which sounds a lot like "women," it took us a while to figure out exactly what he was saying...

It was a great weekend and we got lots of family time which you can never turn down. Family is what it is all about...

We did not take any pictures because we were having way too much fun...

FaBuLoUs GiVeAwAy

Go here for the best give-a-way I have seen on the blog-o-sphere! Seriously, I mean it!

Dead Head...

I am totally having a serious issue with my hair lately... I had it done for my sisters wedding and the girl burnt some of my hair off in the process of her creative hair do... So, I had my hair cut to accommodate these "breaks" and it was time for a highlight, so I had that done too! Now my hair is straw... YUCK! I have never had this problem, ever in my life. I need some serious help. I do not have the budget to buy the designer shampoo's that I used to buy, and my hair dresser says that Pantene is the worst thing I can put on my hair! EEEK! That is exactly what I have been using for the past several months... I do not want to stay short FOREVER, just while it is in style.... Any tips, ideas, or HELP that you can give me would be GREAT! I am very frustrated!

One funny day!!!

Lately, I wish that my eyes were a camera and my brain was a computer. Even looking back at the pictures I took today I have already forgotten some of the sweet little smiles and laughs he had today... Mason and I have been having such a fun time. He is such a ham and loves to laugh and cut up.... .

Cute Story:
Tonight before bath time, I was holding Mason and he was not happy about leaving his cars behind and taking a bath. He ended up grabbing my necklace and broke it. I put him down and picked up the pieces. I looked at him and said, "Mason, you broke Mommy's necklace... How would you like it if I broke your car?" He said "No, no..." Then I said, "Tell Mommy that you are SORRY." He looked at me with those adorable eyes and said, "Soddy"... Then he brought me one of his cars and wanted to give it to me for breaking my necklace.. What a sweetie.

I hope you enjoy the pictures of our smiley day!

A day in the life of.....

...Mason!
These pictures are from yesterday, I followed Mason around all day taking pictures of him, doing what he does... Pretty much his favorite things are cars and bikes, so he plays with cars and rides bikes, all day long- at least that is what he did yesterday... Enjoy!

i would love....

to have some pictures to put up here today for you to see, but blogger is messed up... I will try again later...

From Toddler to BIG BOY in mere secconds...

Driving his cars on the chair waiting for his turn...
I promise this is our car...
Always busy, it is rare that I can get him to look at the camera...
Still working hard driving cars.... very important stuff...
Hey, Give that camera MOM!
He was so big. This was his first time sitting by himself. He walked over and got the big boy cape and climbed up in the chair...
Just look at that hair, what a mess...
Right before...
End results, do not forget the sucker, his most favorite part of the hair cut...
Looking waaaaay too much like Curt! What a cutie!!!
Mason has hair just like mine, curly/ fuzzy in the back and straight as a stick on the top and sides. He normally goes with Dad to get a hair cut, but I decided it was time that maybe I take him and see if we can change from using the scissors to the trimmers. He was a bit startled when she turned them on, but he did not mind too much because he had his sucker....
Sorry kiddo, Mommy blessed you with her nappy hair, at least you can cut your off! You did great today, big boy! I had fun taking you for a hair cut, just you and me. I know hair is a Mason and Daddy thing, so thanks for letting me tag along!
Love,
MOM

Katie & Jeremy's Wedding Weekend

This would have been a great picture if it were not for "J" and his silly face... Thanks, J!
My baby sister got married.... sniff, sniff. She was so beautiful and I am sure I will post more pictures as I get them... No one ever e-mails me pictures except Nana...

This is the "DOOO" that burnt my hair off, nice huh? Those curlies on top pretty much broke off when I took my hair down...

Beautiful Katherine Elliott

The bridal party looking SASSY!

This melts my heart, I love this picture because it shows off some of Mason's best qualities; his lips and his big grey-green eyes... Love bug...
Sista's... Carrie and I at the Elliott rehearsal.
Curt at the rehearsal.

I downloaded this picture, and now I hate it, but I cannot figure out how to get it off...
Jeremy, why must you keep doing this to the really good pictures...? Look at how sweet Mason and Carrie look, why??? I would edit you out, but your nose goes right up to Mason's ear... There is no way to get you out... Silly guy.

New Dooooo

When Katie got married, I had my hair done and the girl burnt some of my hair off.... EEek! I had to have it cut and I added some bangs and went a little more blond. What do ya think???? I have not had bangs since high school, I hated them then, but I really like them now...

Grand Daddy, Daddy & Baby Daddy

My Baby-Daddy
Curt, you are such an awesome father. I love this picture of you and Mason, he looks just like you here. Mason wants to be just like you and I can see why he is so attached. You are: fun, silly, loving, smart and caring... He looks up to you so much, you will always be his biggest role model.

My Grandad (Pa Bill) and My Dad

Pa Bill is my last living Grandpa. He is my Mom's Dad. He has always been such a big part of my life. I remember when I was a kid begging to stay the night with him and Granny. I love you Pa, Happy Father's Day!

My Dad.... I have always been pretty much a Daddy's- girl. Dad has this spirit about him that almost no-one can turn away. He is always friendly and kind to everyone. He has always tried to instill in us that we should be kind to everyone and never judge. This is one trait that I hope that I will pass on to Mason. I remember when I was a teenager getting in a BIG argument with my parents and being very angry. My Dad used to make me so mad because he would not (most times) yell back. He would always say, "OK, sweet heart... if that is how you want to be, that is fine, but just know that I love you." Oooooh how that would boil my blood. I look back now and I feel so bad, so guilty... I was so selfish, I never knew the love that a parent could have for their children, even if they did wrong. I do now....

He would make such a big deal about leaving the house in a car when I was mad. I could not understand that then, but now I grasp the concept.

One of my Dad's favorite songs is "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart. I think I will always think of that as his song as long as I live. We would come home when I was young and Dad would be in the shower rocking out to Rod and singing real loud. Such sweet memories.

I love you Dad, sorry for the late post, but better late than never.... right

Tazmanian Devil, oopse, I mean.... Mason

Mason has been a little bit of everything lately, and I mean that he has been all over the place. Sometimes he is so crazy and sometimes he is so funny and sometimes both all at once. I get kind of overwhelmed sometimes with this whole toddler, terrible two's thing, but I will make it through.... HAHA! Here is a list of some things that Mason has been doing and saying lately...

  • He sees every single air plane that flies across the sky. He calls them "quanes."
  • Every motorcycle he sees he makes sure that we see it as well, he calls them "bi", I think he means, bike.
  • He loves cars of all kinds. He takes all of his cars and trucks and lines them up on the edge of the table, bed or any flat surface that he can find...
  • He climbs on everything, end tables, the couch, you name it. It is very hard to keep him down.
  • Curt and I were in the kitchen cleaning up from dinner the other night and Mason was in the living room, we thought he was playing with his cars... We heard a thump and he screamed and started crying... we went into the living room and half of Mason's body was sticking out of the floor.... Yes, I said floor. Our vent returns are in the floor, unfortunately, and Mason has learned how to take them off. His little body fit perfectly down inside. When we saw what has happened, we thought it was real bad. Soooo glad that it was not bad at all. Looking back, we can laugh, but it was not very funny at all. I am getting a nail gun and nailing those things down....
  • He knows his friends by name and where they live at... As we are pulling up to Ryder's house, he starts screaming, "Rydie, Rydie..." When we drive or walk by Alex's house, he says "Alie, Alie..."
  • He loves the baby kittens, it is all that I can do to keep them alive... He carries them around by the tail, leg neck or anything else he can grab... He just loves them A LOT!
  • He loves candy, he asks for it dozens of times per day... I used to be able to fake him out, but now there is no way I can do that. I will try and hand him a cracker or a piece of fruit and he turns it away. he really loves candy...
  • I spend all of my time picking up after him. He tears through the house... But you best believe I make him pick up after his self. Sometimes when I am trying to teach him a lesson he really hates it. But I have learned that if I stick in there for long enough, he will do what I ask him.
  • Today, I was putting some snacks into a cup for him... (I count everything) I said, one... and Mason looked at me and said, two.... I was amazed. He did it a few more times after that. Now we need to work on, three....

Curt and I love him more every single day... He is such a sweet spirit and so smart. He really amazes us with everything he says and with all that he can do...

Sex and the Boro

Me, Kacey and Shelly

Kacey, Shelly and I went to see Sex and the City the day it came out.... It was such a great time and it was my most favorite movie lately, besides Baby Mama! I hope you love the picture of us three hamin' it up for the camera right before we went it.... I know I look like a HOG because I am holding the drink and pop corn, but Kacey and I were sharing it, I promise.....

Michelle, we missed you tons, and our group is never complete without you!!!!

Bike Ride

i rode my bike to work today and it was really fun. i only work 1.5 miles from the house, so it was not a bad ride and I got some exercise in as well. i was surprised at how much fun i had. everyone at work made fun of me, i guess they are just way too cool in there "gas guzzlers." one girl asked my why i wore a helmet, she said they were very ugly, i said that a busted head looks a lot worse....

Friends, Neighbors, Favors... Oh My!!!

It seems that my friends and neighbors are always pulling through for me. Angie, our neighbor and my friend totally helped us out with Mason last minute notice... Kacey is always coming to the rescue as well.... Thanks a ton friends! I totally appreciate you....

yes, we are still alive...

Mason lines his cars up on the table... if you move them, he will put them right back where they were...
Monkey Man, as we call him. When you call him this, he says," ooooo, ooooo, ooooo" because that is what monkeys say, right?
This is a display for Kiki & Lele that my father-in-law made for me, isn't it cool?
Sneak peek of a new initial tag...
Mason in the trailer right before we went on a ride.
How can you resist???
Gabby shares her sticks, sometimes....
Action shot. I promise we are not Red-neck... I normally make my child wear shorts, we were in the back yard and he poured rain water all over his shorts, so I took them off...
I love his profile... He looks like his Daddy.

My handsome husband. How could I ever get so luck to have him....
And him too.... what did I do to deserve all of these great men in my life???
This is not our toy basket... Mason steals others toys at the pool....
See, not our toys...
This is Elijah, he is Curt's brother. He stayed with us for the past 2 days... So much fun.
This is Mason giving Ryder a ride on Ryder's bike. What good little sharers...
Kacey tag-teaming the twins... How does she do it?
The last two kittens... I am having a hard time letting these two go... the fire men were checking the hydrants one morning and they brought Mason a fire hat!
We can close with this one..... Adorable!

i have been gone from blogging for a while. i wish i could say that i have been super-duper busy or that I have been off doing something fabulous, but that would be un-truthful... we have just been busy living life and going through the motions. We have had some fun and here is the proof.... Back later with more...
