.:Basketball & Bows:.

Wordful Wednesday, for those who cannot keep their mouths shut about our pictures... For more WW posts, head on over to Angie's 7 Clown Circus!

Watching to see how Daddy does it! Mason has never really played basketball before, but he really enjoyed watching Daddy play a game of H.O.R.S.E.

Being a 2 year old, taking the ball from the big boys and running with it, all the while being a cute little stinker...
Just having a good time on an unusually warm Tuesday, the last Tuesday in December, 2008!

Please read the below post and please pray for Baby Stellan!

Also, SITS is having a sort of "bloggy how-to". Each day they are giving new tips to make your posts great, if you are new to blogging, head on over and see what they have to say...

*Please Pray For Baby Stellan*

I have followed Mck Mama's blog for quite sometime now. When she was pregnant with her son Stellan, he was diagnosed with a fatal heart condition, the doctors said that he would not make it more than a few breaths after birth. She, together with millions of other bloggers have rallied together and prayed for Stellan, knowing the healing power that God surely has and that if it was God's will, Stellan would be healed. Well, Stellan was born without incident, and the doctors said he was HEALED! The power of prayer is so strong and God is so amazing. I believe for sure that it was God's will that her little baby boy was to live.

Now, Stellan is sick with RSV, he is only a few months old and struggling in the PICU at their local Children's Hospital. This breaks my heart so much for this sweet baby boy. Please join me in saying a prayer for Stellan that God will heal his struggling little body and that he will make it home happy and healthy.

Please visit her blog by clicking on her link or the button above and leave her a comment, she needs it, I am sure!

Nap Time = Free Time

Yesterday was the first day I have tried to sew in years. I have never threaded a machine on my own ( I was not aware that I would have too). I thought I would be a pro at it. I was for sure I would be a pro... I was wrong in a BIG way. There are so many steps to sewing and they are all very detailed. So, my hat is off to anyone who can sew, epically those of you who are good enough to sell what you sew... By the end of the night last night I was ready to give up, put the darn machine in the closet and be done with it... I know, but really I am not a quitter, I never have been. I always try and finish what I start. So today when I put Mason down for nap, I decided to give it another try... Here is my end result...
My motto for sewing... LOL!
I made Mason a "Bob the Builder" pillow and blanket. The pillow came from left overs and after I did the blanket I was pretty pleased so i kept going... One side is fleece and I know Mason will love it, he loves to snuggle and he loves soft things. Also, If you happen to enlarge the pic to look a little closer, "BoB" is not looking so hot, he was the hardest to sew.

Santa + Mason = BFF

One of Mason's Santa gifts was this snazzy 4-wheeler... We let him play in the yard on it some, but I wanted to wait until he had a good helmet to ride it somewhere other than our yard. He is so funny of it and he is really good at steering. He enjoys preforming tricks for us which include, but not limited to; standing while driving, one foot in the air, no hands, one hand, and even not looking where he is going at all....
Getting his gear on. You would have thought he was going to race other kids on a track or something with all of the stuff I was trying to buy him to wear... Then I remembered, a helmet will do. The wheels are plastic and for the time being he does not know how to put it into high gear by himself.
Curt put it into HIGH and Mason took off... How cute!

Taking a breather... Whew this is hard work!

He actually tried to run over me... He thought it was funny too, I swear where do they get this stuff...?

Sew Wrong...

I asked for a sewing machine for Christmas. I just knew I was going to be a pro. Not to toot my own horn, but "most" things craft usually come easily to me. Let's just say that this is not the case with sewing for me. Now, I will hunt down a sewing class and learn a little more about sewing before I decided to ruin any more perfectly good fabric...

I was sew wrong....

{Fun with Friends}

My BFF from childhood was in town visiting her parents for Christmas. I drove to T-Town and somehow all 3 of us Mom's managed to put our hectic holiday schedules on hold for some much needed laughs, stories, yummy mexicano just good times...

Amanda, Leslee and Becca

Amanda & Leslee

My camera has had the funk lately and I am not sure why it is not shooting its usual pretty clean shots, but I am devistated....
ps- spell check is on the frits, I would go back and edit my post but it would not do any good, I cannot spell...

Finding good use for our time out...

So, I decided that since Mason was not going to watch the show, I would put our time to good use and take some more Christmas pictures.... Our Church has a very large Ginger Bread house set up and since everyone else was enjoying Miss Patty Cake, I thought I might sit Mason in the pretend snow and take some cute shots... This is what I ended up with...

Playing with fake snow.
Acting silly in the fake snow...

Sharing fake snow with Mom.
Being cute, this was my favorite out of all of them.

Typical Mason face... Huh?

Miss Patty Cake

A few Saturday's ago, our church invited Miss Patty Cake to come and give a concert. I got tickets for Mason and I to go and we had a pretty good time. I think he might have been a little too young this year, or maybe the fact that he is a boy his attention span did not last long enough, I will never know...

Miss Patty Cake singing some song for the kids... For those of you who may not know, Miss Patty Cake is a Christian children's entertainer. Mason has her DVDs and he really loves watching them. She teaches such great lessons and they are all interactive so the he can join in the story line with her... Too much fun...
Trying to get a decent picture of our trip. At least he was not crying...

Mesmerized for just a few minutes... The show was 1.5 hours long, we only made if for 40 minutes.

We had a great time and I payed attention to Mason's clues and I headed for the door at the first sign of trouble, that way our trip was tantrum free....

I have metal splinters in 2 of my left hand fingers...

I sent 215 emails in only 12 days, trying to get the orders correct...

I had some wonderful customers...

All of which have their own special stories....

I am so thankful for my sweet little busisness....

If you would like to see more, head on over to HERE and have a {Blessed Day}, I know I will....

~Screaming Meme~

Screaming Meme left me a comment at my other blog, Kiki & Lele, and I instantly fell in {love} with her blog. Man-o-Man, you have got to go and see what she is all about. Just look at her banner from her blog, such style. My favorite thing about her blog is that she has all sorts of hand made gift ideas for the holidays. Here are a few that I loved the most........

Handmade Guitar Picks...For The Rockers

No~Sew Fleece Blankets....For The Cold~Natured

Stencilled Tea Towels...For The Trendy Homemakers

Linen Spray...For The Homemakers

Mending Jar...For The Seamstress

Bath Bombs...For The Water Babies

Grain filled Hug (Heating Pad)

Sugar Scrub....For The Sweet Bathing Beauties

And there is so much more. Each and every post has either the recipe with it or the step-by-step directions. Head on over to her blog and leave her a comment and tell her what is your favorite craft that she has posted. I think I will be making a few last minute gifts myself...

{Screaming Meme, I love your Hand-Made Goodness, You ROCK}

{Dear Santa}

Dear Santa,

If you do not mind I would love to pick your brain... See there is not much that I want this year in tangible goods. I have plenty and I have been very blessed in my life, so the wants are few and far between.

What I would like is a few of your elf's {on loan- of course} 2 or 3 times a month. You see as easy as it seems, somehow the clothes always fall just a few inches short of the hamper. Even though the sink is next to the dishwasher there is always mounds of dishes waiting for little elf hands to put them in. I have a very nice Dyson that I would not mind if your elf's used as long as it went back to the space where it always sits (and never moves). Oh, and in the corner of my room sits a elliptical machine (you know the kind to exercise on) I would not mind if the elf's dug it out from underneath the HUGE mound of clean clothes and put them away. I would not even mind if they used it a few times, I might even get on the darn thing if they showed me how to use it.... Also, Santa, there is a really tall, very high and out of reach window that needs some love, so if you would not mind sending your chimney ladder so they can reach all of the dust bunnies, I would greatly appreciate it. And if asking for your elf's is just TOOO much to ask for, a gift certificate to a local maids service would work nicely too!

Thanks Santa, you are "The Man"

Leslee

Ok- so blogger is acting up and will not let me use the button or even attach an HTML code, so you will have to use this ugly code to get there....

{Super Cute}

Answers given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?

What' s the difference between moms & dads?
1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.
4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your mom do in her spare time?
1. Mothers don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

~Boy-hood~

I am "back in the saddle" for Wordful Wednesday. I choose Angie's Wordful Wednesday because I could never post a picture and say "zero" words about it. I am one of those gals who just cannot contain myself.

This week as most weeks my post is about "my boys." I am not so sure what exactly I would do with out them. Mason keeps my days on a schedule and gives me the most wonderful slobber kisses and amazes me almost every second with his charm and knowledge. Curtis keeps me sane, he is my rock. He has been so supportive this holiday season. He has been my little errand runner, supply picker-upper and everything else I have absolutely NO time for. I have been so busy, that is why I have had only a few posts, my little business Kiki & Lele is floored with orders. I am almost done and they will all be in the mail tomorrow. Now I feel like I can come up for air, and enjoy the holidays. After my orders ship, I will be kicking my feet up and sipping on some hot coco every night from here until Christmas... Heck who am I kidding, I will be scrubbing my majorly neglected floors... Hey, a girl can dream right?

Amazed at the fish. We took a little trip to Opryland to see the lights, of course it included a trip to Bass Pro Shop to see all of the lovely "man" stuff... Does he not look like a 4 year old? I cannot believe how fast he is growing, he just turned 2 in October.
There was a carousel. Mason loved going around and around. Curt even joined in and rode with him. We have so much fun as a little family, I so enjoy my free time when we can get out and about and do fun stuff like this...

Pure joy. Family. Fun. Horsies. Love. Life!

ps- we never made it to the lights. when you have an outing with a 2 year old and you do not have a melt down and it is pretty close to bedtime, sometimes you gotta know when to quit. Heck, we still had a blast and I am not complaining....

Random-ness with Lots of {LOVE}

Read the posts below for more random thing we have been up to. I tried to keep my posts clumped together with similar activities. I did not do such a great job.

This past week was pretty much a blur. A few Highlights:

- My car got hit in the parking lot at work (not a highlight, but a milestone- the first wreck one of my cars has ever been in that I did not cause!)

-We cooked and decorated Christmas cookies. For some reason Mason would not eat his creations, I cannot say that I would have eaten them either. This picture was from pretty early on. They ended up looking almost unrecognizable. My kitchen floor still has little ball candies all over it. I have moped it 2 times and every time I step on one it drives me insane.... Mason had tons of fun and that is what counts. At one point I looked up and he was sucking frosting from the tube.... Atta Boy!

Mason tried big boy underpants. It was pretty much a non-success. I got him up from nap told him that he was going to wear big boy underpants. He was excited. I gave instructions that he was to tell me if he had to go, he agreed because I bribed him with suckers. 10 minutes after making a pee on the potty, he got way too busy watching cartoons and had an accident. To my confusion, he did not care one bit... I think that might be a bad sign... Oh well, we will keep on trying, because he can go on the potty and he does several times a day, but I guess he just forgets...

We drove around looking a "Pretty Hismas Ights" as Mason would say. This one was his favorite. I was stuck at a red light and he could not contain himself, so I whipped out my trusty camera. I wish I had the energy to at least put a few lights in the yard, nope not me... At least Mason is happy with driving around and looking at other peoples lights.

Mason and I had to go and pick up some stuff at the mall, so we stopped by Maggie Moo's and had a treat. Mason picked the color and wanted some sprinkles mixed in. I ate some and it was so sweet that it made my stomach hurt. He loved it though and pitched a royal fit when it was all gone. He told the girl behind the counter, "I want more creme pleeeeease!"

Hopefully I can keep some sort of normalcy to my schedule this week. Maybe I can keep things more up to date. Tomorrow is another big day!

Emma Grace

My friend Jessica had a baby on Monday. Her name is Emma Grace. I was chomping at the bit to go and see her at the hospital. Here she is in all her glory, taking a peek right at the time I flashed the camera in her eyes.

She has the most adorable cheeks and it was so nice to hold her. I forgot how small, and sweet newborns are.

Jessica amazed me with how great she looked right after having a baby. I remember feeling like I would never walk again. She was so put together and everything seemed to come so naturally to her.

Congrats Jason and Jessica, I know you all will be great parents. I cannot wait to hold sweet Emma Grace again....

Heres Why...

I have hardly posted lately, I kknow I always say it, but I have been busy. I guess I could say, we (Curt, Mason and I) have been busy. We decided this year that we have really missed some of our family. So we got out the calander and marked off some dates to make our rounds.

We went to Poppie & Carolyn's house to see them, they live about 2 hours away so we do not see them much. They also live so far in the county that they do not have internet, so they cannot look at the blog. I do not really think they are too interested in getting it. Poppie told me that he was going to live it out "old fashion style." So, I made sure to get some prints of our visit and stick them in the mail.

This is Maw Maw, she is Curt's Great Grandmother, Mason's Great-Great Grandmother. Wow, let me tell that MawMaw is the most sharp 80-something year old I have ever met.

We really had a great time. I love this picture. They are so engaged in conversation and the smile on her face makes me happy. She was so happy to see us come but right around dark (4:30pm) she reminded us that it was her bed time. :)

We also went to the Tullahoma Parade. I am not sure what is up with my camera, but the pictures have been stinky quality lately... This is my sister-in-law, Carrie, Mom, Brian and Mason. He did not move the enitre time from my bothers shoulders. He had the best seat in the house. You cannot tell it from the picture but my brother is 6'4", so no one got in Mason's way.

The "Newly Weds"! Arent they cute. I just love their matching coats. I bet you cannot tell that Katie is my sister... I thought about dying my hair dark, but I think we will look close to twins.

{Still Alive}

I have been busy, very busy. Don't I always say that? I think so, but in any case it is sooooo true! Between visiting Family, Christmas Parties, K & L, Spending time with my little Family, Cleaning the house- I am swamped! I am sure everyone else is the very same swamped as I am, but I just feel all alone in my {swamped-ness}!

Oh well, life moves on tomorrow is a new day and we are off to visit more family. First we will swing by Curt's Dad's house to pick a few things up and then it is over to visit with sweet MawMaw {Curt's Great Grandmother}. She is funny, sharp as a tack- she does not miss one thing, and she is a good cook! It is sure to be a great day with lots of laughs and talking about how fast Mason is growing...

I will post more pictures soon and more updates as soon as I can! I like to pretend that the universe just needs to know that I will still be blogging! {BIG LAUGH!}

On My List For Sure!

{little boy heaven...}

Look at what I found on ETSY for Mason! I am sad though, only after Christmas delivery! Maybe the Easter Bunny could bring this our way! I am in love and I know he would be too!

Go HERE to check out this fabulous shop!

Not Me Monday!

Here I am, certainly NOT hanging on by a thread because it is MONDAY!
I did not stay up until midnight last night working on THIS, nope not me...
When I went to bed, there is NO WAY that I stayed up until 4am, thinking about random things.
I am NOT at work for a full day today because I did NOT volunteer to work full days on Mondays! What was I thinking?
I am NOT at all feeling a little cross-eyed and a lot delirious today from the lack of sleep!
I did NOT have to bring Mason in the bed with us in the wee hours of the morning because he was not sleeping & neither was I!
Curtis did NOT sleep through it all, and I never would have nudged him with my foot to try and get him to help!!!
Not Me!
Never!

Thankful for...

This Thanksgiving we will be with the In-Laws. I know, I know, most would say, "ewwww" and some like their In-Laws more than their birth families... Me, well, lets just say they are definitely growing on me. We had somewhat of a rocky start- trust me they know this too it is no secret- and now they are starting to grow on me. I can finally have a conversation with Curt's Mom and "we" are nice to each other and seem to get along. There was not too many months ago where we would barely look at each other. I fell like I am finally starting to fit somewhere in this new family of mine. I am looking forward to the Holidays, while it is always hard to be away from ones own family, I am excited about the traditions that I will be able to help with every year and enjoying my new spot in this family!

** Did I mention, that my MIL (mom-in-law) agreed to let me cook the turkey this year. I hope I told her it is my first time EVER to cook a turkey.... Wow, I hope we have a back-up! And, I hope my Internet research has served me well.... I guess we shall see, I will let you know on Friday....

***If you have any bird cooking tips, let me know... I just might need them...

Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll....

If you missed it, I am thankful for FAMILY, not just the in-laws, all of my family- I would not be who I am with out any one of them....
