Give-A-Way

I knew I would get your attention with that title! Jamie over at "Jamie's Precious Peas" has been doing a product review on my jewelry for Kiki & Lele! So, she is posting it this week! I am soooo nervous! I hope she liked what I sent to her! She will also be incorporating a give-a-way into her post... You should go and check it out...

Sorry I have been so absent from blogging land... I have had a lot going on... Today is the first day I have had time to catch my breath. I finally got some laundry done and cleaned my house... It was honestly a wreck. I just got up this morning and said- NO MORE! I have to do this today! My hubbie even helped, he knew I needed it! Mason was actually great and did not mess too much up while I was cleaning like a mad woman...

Gotta run, little bug is waking it on up... Mom- I promise to post some pics this week....

PSF- A Nice Surprise... Snow.

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

We went away for the weekend last weekend to Curt's Mammies new cabin. The day we got there it was 50 degrees, the next morning we woke up to a ton of "white stuff"! It was beautiful and most likely was the most snow that the 3 of us will see all year... Tennessee is not to BIG on snow, I wish we were, but it rarely happens. So, to my friends in the North, I envy you... I love snow.

We tried to use a garbage can lid for a sled, it did not work, but Mason thought it was fun.

Learning how to snow balls, he learned from his Daddy- the master of throwing snowballs.

Trying to get a family picture... Trying is the KEY word!

Here he is, the Master himself.... I made him take this shot for "my blog"... Don't laugh you know you also spend your days thinking of blog-tastick posts...

Preparing the snowballs... You gotta work them and pat them down if they are going to sting your wife when you hit her in the bum....

I've Been Tagged...

Kasey @ "All That is Good" tagged me tonight...

Here are the rules:

1- Choose the 4th file on my computer with the 4th picture.
2-Explain the 4th picture that is in that folder
3-Tag 4 people to do the same
4-no cheating (cropping, editing, etc.)

This is a BIG date that Curt and I went on while we were still dating and still childless... We used to do lots of BIG dates. Looking back at this picture I am so thankful and appreciative of the time we had together dating and how much fun we had... We were always going on fun little adventures...

I TAG:

Kacey at Chronicles of a Mommy
Jessica at The Reeders- She is NEW
to blogging land- go and greet her...
Amanda at Drysdales in Paradise
Becca at The Griders

Keep it going... Have fun and enjoy... Remember, NO CHEATING!

Holy Moly.....

I must say that today has been ONE.OF.THOSE.DAYS! I am not feeling well and so I have been slacking on the house work, I mean it when I say that I am a "slacker!" Today before I got home from work, I committed in my head that I would be cleaning the heck out of my house this afternoon... I got home, and walked into this...

A result of me trying to find a place to get crafty with my sewing machine... My poor dining room...
A result of my utter disgust with laundry... I hate laundry, always wait to the last minute, I mean like my hubby is looking for clean underpants- that is how bad it gets.... I just hate laundry, it is this Super Mommy's Kryptonite... (sp?)

Oooh, and this can only be done by my sweet little devil... It is way worse than it looks from the picture... The whole house looks like this, some days I just go to bed with it like this (Only some days). sorry for the blurry pictures...

Whew, it is so exhausting just looking at the pictures... Oh well, I have cleaned my little booty off today, only to have Mason go right behind me and tear stuff up... Everything he could find to get his hands on, he was like a Tasmanian devil.
Taz-mason devil mission:
1. pour out fabric softener of play room carpet.
2. climb on top of master bath counter top and pour out mouth wash all over the place- I was thrilled that he did not drink it.
3. Every time Mom turns around make sure I am pulling stuff out or drawers, dumping stuff out, and just making a mess...
4. smile and try and look super cute and very innocent.... I am so cute...
It was definitely one of those days I felt like I was spinning my wheels in mud. Now, thankfully he is tired and worn down and about to take a bath...

ps- I promise I watch and pay attention to my kid, he is just so busy that he never stays in the same place for more than one second and he is constantly thinking of ways to BRING. ME. DOWN...

Family Night 101

If you have small children, you know that it is hard to find "kid-friendly" places to eat and enjoy a meal... Since I am not really a cook, we eat out a lot... Since we have a 2 year old, we are always looking for places where we will not cause a scene.... Even though most times there is nothing you can do about that....

We had some of this at a pizza joint down the road, Mellow Mushroom...
They have a big bus (used to be real) and I asked if we could eat in there, it is normally reserved for large parties, but sine we ate at 4:30 and we were the only people in the restaurant, they let us....

Mason had a blast driving, shifting gears and opening and shutting the windows... And no one seemed to mind.

It made for one happy Daddy

&

One happy Mommy!

What more could we ask for???
I did not even have to clean up....
Please read below, there is so much to catch up on... Nap time lasted longer than I thought....

Privileged.

I had the privilege of having a crappy childhood dentist who put fillings in my mouth that have now cracked and caused me to have to get crowns... If you ask me I think it is all a conspiracy of the dentists and definitely has nothing to do with my extreme sugar addiction...

I also have the privilege of having a very low tolerance to pain and genes that make it hard for me to take numbing agents... As in, it took the dentist 5 times to numb me and a 1.5 hour procedure took almost 3.5 hours.... Lucky me, right?

I walked through the front door and smiled at Curt and he died laughing, forgetting all about the shots in my mouth, I could not understand what what so freaking funny...

Then, I looked in the mirror...

Awww, bless me heart.... I was in NO pain at this point, but I was so exhausted that I went to bed at 8pm and slept all night long....

This is what Curt saw, I look pitiful huh...?? I am only sharing this with y'all because I know you are not going to laugh, RIGHT!!!!!

Projects... take all of my time...

Besides being a wife, Mom, house keeper, laundry mat attendee, floor scrubber, potty trainer, front porch sweeper, Short cut taker, jewelry maker, business owner and take out picker upper, I also like to make things.. I am always thinking of new things to make, I got the idea for these from my dear friend Amanda in TX, she saw some almost like them at a baby shower..
If you read regularly you know that I got a sewing machine for Christmas and after some long hard practice, I think I am catching on. I made a Bob the Builder Blanket and pillow for Mason and then I made these cute burp cloths for my SIL, she is due with a baby girl in May, I also have another friend having a baby girl and another one who just had one.... So I have been busy making these cute little burp cloths... I wish I had a monogramming machine..... Maybe if I like this sewing thing enough, Santa will bring me one next year... A girl can dream... Sorry about the stinky pictures, one thing I am not good at is taking pictures.... You get the picture, right? My next adventure is a breast feeding cover... Wish me luck...

Ooh, gotta run, I have a little boy waking up and I got 5 loads of laundry to do....

PS- if you cannot tell, I have a lot of blogging to catch up on, it is part of my bi-polar blogging disease... Please bear with me while I work through it all....

Cooking Lessons

I usually do not let Mason help me cook- HECK- who am I kidding? I usually do not cook.... But in this case it was not actually cooking and the kid loves to cook, mix things, stir things- anything to do with cooking, he is all about it...
Ok, so you have to go ahead and excuse the mess in the back ground, see the Windex? That means I was at least thinking about cleaning...

We made Snickers Salad... Ummm sounds great BUT bad for those cupcakes I have rising over my jeans... But it was so yummy.

Snickers Salad
6 regular sized Snickers (cubed)
6 small/regular sized green apples (cubed)
8oz. of Sour Creme
1 Regular size container of Cool Whip....

Mix, chill and serve... I recommend serving shortly after making...

If you are going to make this it would not hurt if you had a cute little boy to stir his little heart out... See, I do not even need a Kitchen Ade...

Stir like the wind my little man....

Go here and check out Abby's story...

I be back later with some fun stuff that we have been up to...

For now, give thanks for your healthy child and pray for little Abby, she needs it...

{27}

The time has come, another year behind me and my life continues to get better and better. God continues to bless me, show me his humor and shower me with people who love and care about me. I have a wonderful husband, a beautiful son and I still cannot believe that I live the life I have been dreaming of forever. I do not know what 2009 holds for me, only the {BIG GUY} could know that, but I am eager to get started and see what is down the road ahead....

Curtis and I got a weekend to ourselves, Mason stayed with my parents and we went out on a date for the whole day... First we ate at the Hard Rock in down town Nashville, and then we had desert at the Melting Pot {delish...}. Then we came home and went out to the movies and saw "Seven Pounds". Let me say, that movie changed me, it changed how I think about other people and myself. I would spend the money to go out to the theater and see it 100 more times if I had it... Go and see it, you will not be disappointed. I must say, the first half of the movie is slow and I found myself thinking "It has to get good soon, and what the heck is this movie about anyways???"

Today my family is coming over to have dinner at my house. It is a family tradition since I was a child that we got to pick our B-day dinner and my Mom would cook whatever we wanted... This year, I said I wanted a surprise, so we shall see what she whips up... Sure to be good- yummmm.

Gotta run, I am going to plop on the couch and enjoy the rest of nap time and the rest of my Birthday Weekend!

Happy Birthday to me, to me.....

See ya next week!

Boobs, Boobies & Boots...

Lately Mason is a wealth of knowledge. I mean he says everything and he is mister know-it all... He constantly is cracking me up with that he says and honestly I never know what it will be next... Lately he has been coming up with some very funny antics with total strangers in public and normally at the grocery store...

Early in December at Kroger... Background, Mason is hooked on blueberry's...

Mason: I needs boobies!
Me: OK, I will get a pack... (me, putting the pack into the basket)
Mason: I want one... I want two, I need boobies....... (getting pretty loud!)
Me: We will get some when we get home, not in the store...
Mason: Please, boobies, please.... 2 boobies.... PLEASE
Mason and Mommy: (rolling along to the cereal isle where we meet an unsuspecting very opinionated lady)
Mason: Boobies, please Mommy... 2, please... (he likes 2 of everything!)
Me: Mason, Mommy said when we get home, you do not eat in the store... No more asking...
Strange Lady: Oh, honey do not stress, I know people who have breast fed their children for a very long time... How old is he...? He should probably ween off soon, you know there are signs as to when to do this....!
Me: (playing along because she amused me with her rude butting in...) um, hum... Yes, he should....
Mason: Never ceases to embarrass me in public...

Man, I sure love having a 2 year old...

Today in the mail Mason got new BOOTS from his Gran (thanks Gran)! He wanted to wear them everywhere on the wrong feet, because I guess that is how he likes it. She got them for him because he could do it for himself, and she was right, he wants ZERO help.:. By the way Mason calls boots, Boobs... Go figure, why not right?

So, we were off to Target... Boots and all...

In the check out line, where like 20 other people were with us all trying to get checked out and get the Sam hill out-a- there... A sweet old lady decides to pick up Mason's car that he chucked across out of my reach because he was acting like a 2 year old... She brought it over to him and saw his boots, and here is the rest of the story...
Me: Mason tell her thank you...
Mason: Tank You.
Old Lady: I like your boots...
Mason: Boobs...!
Old Lady: Agreeing with him
Mason: (pointing with both pointer fingers...) Mommy's boobies....
Me:(turning red not really knowing what to say...)
Mason: (pointing at his own) Mason boobies...

Me: (thinking) how in the heck did he get off the subject of boots...

Thank goodness it was my turn and Mason and his embarrassing moments moved on right out to the car and on the the house...

On another note, Mason is obsessed with saying "cat poopie", not sure why, but he says it like it is a bad word. He gets this cute little mischievous grin on his face and says, "cat poopie..."
What can I say, he is a boy and he is 2!
