Granny Swan

I love going to my Grandmothers house. We call her Granny Swan, Granular, Gran, Granny (she would not mid if we called her Chicken, as long as we called her something). She lives waaaay out in the country and has a comfy little house with some fab-u-lous decorations. She also literally has beds all over her house. I love her beds, the one in her room is super tall- you have to use a stool just to get on and off. She has 2 beds in the living room, you wouldn't think so, but hey just fit right in with the other furniture. The stuff in her house is the stuff of a collector, and that she is- and a great one too! She has always been a very crafty person, I like to think I got my crafty skills from her. I know when people tell me I am crafty like her, I always take it as a compliment.

I promise you will never go to anyone else's house and what you see when you go to Granular's House... Come on, I'll show you!

You gotta stop and smell the roses, that is if you have a head... Haha... I thought this was funny. I am sure the head just got knocked off and that she really did not put it in the garden like this, but there is a bit of sarcasm in this little sign...

This is Mason and Granular going to pick rocks... Mason had a great time and loved his one-on-one time with her. He was not sure what to think about the Grinch house shoes, but he warmed up to them after a while. She made me promise not to put here picture on here, but my fingers were crossed... I am going under the guise that this is for Mason and when he gets older he can look back and see pictures of his family and the things he did with them...
Ahhh, a daunting task, take the rocks from the bucket and then place them in the bowl... This task is only complete after you repeat like 500 times...
Here is a bed in the living room, see those curtains, they are hiding the front door. I took a rather nice little nap in this very bed... I am telling you it fits in with the decor and if I went to her house and there were no beds in the living room, I would think something was wrong with her. I might even be mad...
I love this shade. It literally is fabric covering a roll down shade... Crafty and adorable. She is so good at DIY. She should have her own blog all about the DIY stuff she does. You would read, I just know it! I am planning on doing one for Mason's room, I just have to find the fabric that I am looking for...
Lots of cool, old jars that she most likely picked up from a Flea Market or Antiquing, or maybe she has had it forever... You never really know...
I love this wagon, when i was small it held baby dolls that all of the grand kids loved and now it holds quilts...
Mason getting into some cabinets, he is good for that you know...
Old windows that she picked up from someones trash pile by the road. There were some broken panes, so she replaced them with stained glass... Another DIY project... Why can't I pass by someones house that is getting rid of old windows or doors for free....?
Now, this is where I would like to sit and read a book. I am sure she does read here a lot. In the summer her yard is in full bloom with tons of wild flowers and lots of butterflies and bumble bees.
