Les-ology

These are in no particular order, i just thought I would put a little meet and greet on here in case anyone wanted to know some stuff about me, so here goes...

  • I am blond. I have tried to go darker, I just think I look better this way.

  • I am flighty. I rarely ever make commitments. It is hard to get me to nail down a time period on something (cleaning out a closet, washing my car, weeding the flower beds...etc.) I just normally do it on my own time.

  • I will not judge you... It is not my place too. There is a much higher power that gets to do that all day long. I have too many other things to worry about other than the stuff in your life. That is why I think I get so upset when people judge me for the things that I do, the things that I like, or anything else.

  • Sometimes I get loud. It happens to the best of us. When I get on a tangent, I start talking loud. I do not mean too, it just happens. I think I might have a hearing impairment. Because I have absolutely not idea of how loud I am being.

  • I love my husband. Bottom line, no explanation needed. He is exactly what I need, and exactly the person that God made for me and I love that nothing can change that. His love makes me have butterflies and still at the same time can bring me back down to earth when I am up in the clouds. We are the perfect match.

  • Mason is my sun, moon and stars. I do not quite think I could breathe with out him. I did not know real, unconditional love until I met him. When he was born, I had no clue what to do with him, I may have acted like I did, but I was totally clueless. I thought I read all of the books got all of the advice I needed and I was prepared. WRONG! But I think that is the fascinating thing about having children. It is really amazing, you think you know what they will look like, how they will act, what being a MOM is going to be like. Well, some people might be right, but I was totally wrong. I was still convinced he was a girl until the day he was born. He smiles at me and melts my heart like chocolate. I love crawling on the floor with him and learning new things through his eyes. Life is so much more exciting from 2 feet high!

  • I cannot stand clutter. Disarray drives me nuts-o! Everything has to be in its place every night before I go to bed. If it is not, I cannot settle!

  • I love only a few TV shows. But to the ones I love, I am very loyal. These are my favorites; Desperate Housewives, Lost (discontinued), Brothers and Sisters, Friday Night Lights. They are my favorites. They come on between 8 and 10 pm, and that is the only TV time I have. So it works out great for me!
  • I would love to be more domesticated, so I am working on it. I have been trying to be more crafty, practical, and Martha-ish!
  • I wish I had more time. It seems to be waisted by so many unimportant things in my life. I never have enough of it for the stuff that really matters. Weekends are my favorite, because we do not stay on any sort of time schedule, unless we go to church.

That is pretty much me in a nutshell. If you need to know more, just ask. I hope you know me a bit better now.

Happy Fall Ya'll

Poor Curt, Mason was tearing his head up with the fingernails. He has not figured out how to be easy when he is riding on the shoulders.
Mason's first cotton candy. He loved it.!!.
It was chilly, but it was definitely more windy than it was cold. Mason has had 5 ear infections so far in his life including one double infection. I cannot hardly stand to think about it so we got a hat that would stay on and he did not touch it until the very end of our trip! Yes, I have cut my hair off... 6 inches to be exact!
What a cute fall picture.
Mommy, pumpkin and Mason
This is one of my most favorite pictures of all times.

Our church had a fall festival. They said at church that they were expecting 12,000 people. I did not really believe them because I had never been, they were not joking. There was a ton of people and kiddos all dressed up! We did not dress up because we were saving his costume for Michelle and Brant's party on Wednesday, but we went. It was an o.k time. We will most likely not go for another couple of years or so. Mason was not old enough to enjoy everything. It was nice to get out of the house and Brian and Kacey, Ryder, Lincoln and Ruby Jane joined us. That was such a treat to be with them all. They twins are so adorable and Ryder was so cute, he was amazed at the horses and Mason. Overall, we had a blast and we were happy that we got out of the house on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy some family and friend time. And best of all we got some cute pictures out of it all....

Boys will be boys!

Yes, we love our toys. Well, my boys love toys anyways, I do not have any really...
Mason was so cute. Curt started it for him and after mason was growling at it, I guess that is what he thinks it sounds like... But in this picture he was just biting the foam on the handlebar. Yes, that is a Budweiser sign in the back ground. I was told that this is a very old and nice sign and you never try to mess with a Man's garage. So, the sign is still up. I get the say-so in the house I guess that is plenty!
Mason can work the car just fine!!! This is the other toy, Chevy Nova. Mason thinks he can work on it just like his Daddy can. I love this smile, you can almost see all 7 teeth. Number 8 is poking through as we speak. We are having a hard time sleeping because of it too!
Vroom, Vroom....
Mason found this paint brush int he garage. He loved it, but I had to take it away. I was afraid it had old paint still on it. Call me parnoid, but you can never chance it with paint.

Mason Stuff

Little "wild-hair" playing with Ryder.
Ryder showing Mason how to work his toys...
I love this picture
More playing with dirt. He is fascinated with rocks.
Tyring to get a pose. It is so hard at this age. His hearing is very selective. every time I say, "Mason look at Mommy..." He ignores me. Why would he do such a thing???

M-T-S-U, Go, Raiders, Go

Tailgating
Me and my girlfriend, Jenna...
The two loves of my life....
Mason and his Raider Jersey. I am having his name and the number 4 put on the back... Too cute! Look at his adorable crocks that Nonnie bought for Mason.

We are sick in the Boro!

We have been dealing with some yucky stuff at the Phillips household. I started getting a sore throat on Friday morning. We still decided to go to Curt's Mom's house on Friday afternoon. After we got to her house, Mason started to feel bad on Saturday and he had a pretty bad night Saturday night as well. We came home Sunday morning, and then Curt started feeling bad. So we have all had a touch of this yucky virus. The worst part is that Mason cannot tell us how he feels. He has just been pitching these whinny fits. I guess that is his way of telling us that he does not feel great at all. He also has hardly slept since Saturday night. He has been up at least 3 times and at most 7 times each night since then. I feel so bad for him.

So yesterday, I kept Mason home and we snuggled and went to the doctor. First an appointment for Mason, the doc said he has an ear infection and a viral upper respiratory infection. What really sucks is that they pulled all of the cough and cold medicine for kids under two. We already had stocked up, but I threw it all away. I guess they pulled it from the shelves for a reason and I could not live with myself if something happened to my little BUG because of my error. Also, I spoke to the doc about that and he said that it really does them no good anyways. So he is on an antibiotic for the ear and that is about it. We are pretty much going to tough it out. Did I mention that this is his 4th ear infection and he is only 12 months old? I feel like I am doing something wrong. I guess some kids are just prone to ear infections, I know I was!

Then I had a doctor appointment that took FOREVER!!!! I am going to switch doctors before the next time I have to go. I am so TIRED of waiting as long as I have to wait. I am always on time and we always pay our bills before they are due and still I have to wait. My appointment was at 2:30 and I did not get home until 5pm. That is utterly ridiculous! I just really hate to change because I like my doctor, but not enough to wait that long!

Think Twice

My grandmother sent this to me in an e-mail. Miss Erma lost her battle with cancer. I think the important message from this is that enjoy what you have while you have it, do not wish your life away or let small stuff bother you. This sweet little message that Ms. Bombeck wrote when she found out she was dying is how I think we should all live life. We would be happier and less worried about things we cannot control.

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck (Written after she found out she was dying from cancer).
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage. I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner." There would have been more "I love you's"; more "I'm sorry's."

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute... look at it and really see it ... live it and never give it back. STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!! Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what! Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us. Let's think about what you have been blessed with, and what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally. I hope you have a joyous day.

Yes, another post today- this makes 4

So I have been spying on Mason at daycare and I have a relieving picture to share. This is Mason taking a nap!!!! Yeeehaw for naps. I could not be happier. This makes me think he is doing much better today!
The clarity is not great but, he is on the right side of the picture next to the teacher. He is sleeping with his Camo blanket that Uncle Cliff got him for his Birthday! I am so glad they did not put him next to the toy box today, he went to sleep almost immediately!

Reflecting....

I was thinking that I have learned so much over the past year. It was a little over a year ago that I became a mother. The biggest job I have ever had.

It was pretty easy at first, all Mason did was sleep, eat and poop! The older he gets the more challenging being a parent gets. I did not say harder- but more challenging. I have always loved a challenge, it makes me feel fulfilled when I accomplish it. Although being a MOM, the job is never complete, and I hope it stays that way.

Every day I wake up and I get to me a mother to the most amazing creature God has ever put into my life. He adores me, and I love that.

Early in the morning after he first gets up, he does not like to be put down. He dose not really like to snuggle too much, but he wants to be held. I love this little quirk about him. He also knows his Daddy's schedule, If he thinks Curt is awake, he will crawl to the bedroom door and bang on it. After he gets in, if Curt is in the bed, he wants to be in the bed with him. If Curt is in the shower, he wants in the shower with him. You can hardly tell him NO, he loves to be with Daddy! I love this about him also. He has been a Daddy's boy lately, but I can also say that at times, he is a Mommas boy too! It really depends.

I love getting on the floor with him and playing in the toy box. Especially when I swap the toy boxes out, he thinks he has all new toys. This cracks me up, because he pulls each one out and shows it to me and we try and figure out how it works together! It really is a ton of fun to do! I never thought playing with baby toys would be so much fun. When you see them through they eyes of your own little one, it is pretty amazing!

There are a few things we are currently working on that bring the CHALLENGING part into play. Mason does not share very well. I do not really expect him to because he is only 1. But it seems like all of his friends share pretty well, so we are working on this. Also, BITING! Mason seems to know no other way to show he loves someone other than to bite them. It really HURTS! We are really concentrating on this... We are trying to learn kisses instead of biting.

So pretty much Curt and I both work opposite schedules of 40 hours a week, the good thing is that we get to share family time together with Mason, which is the most important!!!! So, these were all of the things that we try and cram into our 2.5 to 4 hours a night together. It all really depends on when mason wants to go to bed. I am definitely grateful for the time that we do have together and that we are all healthy!

Big Boy Birthday Party!

These pictures are in no particular order!
I think this one is so funny! The string on the hat broke, so we just sat it on his head!
He really loved the cake, he thought it was super yummy!
Until he thought the floor was a better place for it! This got a very BIG laugh!
Aunt Deborah and Titi (Tee-Tee)- By the way, Mason says TiTi now. She worked hard a=on it all day Saturday and now he has been running around the house saying, "TiT, TiTi..." It is too cute!
Some of the crew in the living room after opening presents and eating cake, notice, Mason has no shirt on!!!
Opening presents with Mom and Dad. He did not know what to do with all of them!
What do I open next daddy?
Reading the letter from Aunt Deborah and TITI. If you were not at the party and you are family, you get one of these letters, please let me know and I will mail you one!
Does any one else think I look red in this picture??? I have not been tanning, what is up with this? Maybe I was nervous becasue I was reading in front of 20 people. 3rd grade flashbacks! LOL!
Mason's present from Nonnie, Grandpa, Uncle Brian, Aunt Carrie, Nanna and RC! Mason has taken about 850 rides on this thing since Saturday!
Getting ready to eat cake

Sorry I have not posted Mason's Birthday Party pictures yet, I was pretty wrapped up in the whole "Preschool" thing! Here are some great pics that I know you all will love!

Big Day

Today is a big day for us at the Philllips household. Mason started his first day of preschool today. We have been very fortunate up to this point becasue he has been watched over by close friends and family! That has been amazing! I do not think I would have been prepared for this when he was only 6 weeks old. I have been a nervous wreck all day long. I called around 10:45 to check on him and I could hear him crying in the background. I can only immagine that after a few fun hours of play, he looked up and thought "where did my MOMMY go???" I went over (this place is very close to my work) to check on him and they were having lunch. He had just stopped crying and was very happy to see me. I helped him finish his lunch. They had chicken nuggets (in small pieces), mashed potatoes (he did not love them at all) and apple sauce. I also brought yogurt for him (of course he ate that). So pretty much he only ate the apple sauce and yogurt and 2 bites of mashed potatoes. This broke my heart becasue I know he was hungry! Then I took him to his pad to take a nap. It was right next to they toy box (GREAT IDEA>>>>) I knew he was super tired, because he did not get a morning nap but he was so excited that I was there. He kept getting up and finding new things to show me. He was content to play with me sitting beside him. I was also happy that he was smiling. I do not like it when he is stressed out and I know this day has definitely stressed him out! My hour lunch was up so I had to sneak out and go back to work. By the time I got back they had set up my account to watch him on-line. So, that is pretty much all I have done since 12 noon! He never took a nap during the allotted time to take a nap, I hope that works out for the teachers.
Right now I am watching him and he is eating a snack. I cannot wait to see that little guy when I get home today! I am sure that he know we will come back, because when I showed up at lunch, he had this smile on his face like, "see I knew you would come." I think what may be bothering him is this new schedule! Only one nap a day and new friends to play with and new adults to take care of him has to be a lot for the little guy. I just have to keep reassuring myself that this will be good for him and it will just take some time to adjust.

Our Life is the BEST Life

So cute
This is a brief glimpse of Mason walking, for those of you who have not seen it yet. Yes, he walks like Frankenstein, but he is doing it and it is adorable!
We are learning to share, well Mason is, Gabby has a really hard time. About 3 seconds after I snapped this picture, she grabbed the ball and took off, thus sending Mason into a major fit!
Yes, Daddy!

Boys will be boys. Mason is fascinated with this pot of dirt off of our front porch. He loves dirt and rocks. I even let him lick the rocks sometimes. Does that make me a bad parent? He is going to do it anyways.
Digging for treasure!
Mamie creeping up on Mason. She will die when she finds this on her. I think it is adorable. This just goes to show that Grandparents will do anything to make their grandchildren happy!
The neighbor boy. He loves to show Mason new things. Kaden told me that he is so old that they did not have "dirt and rocks" when he was a baby for him to play with! I thought that was hilarious!

Daddy and his little man! They are definitely two peas in a pod!

Family picture at Outback
Yes, again! I told you they would do almost anything. She has no humility! I wish I had that!

Mason loves to watch TV on the couch

Adorable

This is my favorite picture

No new news other than Mason's little Family Birthday party on Saturday! His Birthday is Thursday, YAY! We are going to have a small party with about 3 of Mason's friends and close family! I have not even sent out invitations because I am so busy with recovering from the wedding!
