Wordful Wednesday- Chili

Sooo, I have never made chili before Sunday. It was my first time and truth be known, I did not use a recipe. I hardly ever use them. This often makes my husband very ill. Only for the reason of waisting food.
So, when I told him I was going to make chili, he plainly said, "make sure you have a recipe- call your MOM!" I did not want to call my Mom. I am 26 and should be able to make chili on my own.... So, I headed to the store under the assumption that I had a recipe...

It turned out yummy and after the "bite of approval" from Curt, I fessed up. I had no recipe... He was fine with it because I was not putting the whole pot down the garbage disposal. We have been eating chili for 3 days now and I must say I am glad it is gone, for more reasons than you may want to know... It was yummy, it cured our chill for a "chili" fall day! We made chili dogs, chili pies and just plain old bowls of chili...

Leslee's 3 Bean Chili:

1 can of kidney beans
1 can of chili beans
1 can of black beans
1 pack of chili sauce
1 pound of beef
1/4 onion
1tsp minced garlic
1 big can of tomato sauce
1 can of diced tomatoes

Saute the ground beef, add in some garlic, onions and then salt and pepper to desire.
Add all of the other ingredients into one big pot, simmer and when the meat is fully cooked mix it all together...

Soooo yummy! I know I am armature. Do not laugh at me if you think my recipe is silly! If you want to try it, you must know first, it is very chunky chili, we (Curt & I) do not like anything runny, unless it is soup!

Have a great day and for more Wordful Wednesday pictures, hop on over to see Angie at:

  4. That looks really good. I always use a recipe, even after cooking something fifty times. I'm weird like that.

  7. HA HA - first I saw the Fritos!! I thought I was the only person that did that! My husband thinks it is so gross. I MADE chili on Sunday!! Hubs has been eating it for lunch all week. I didn't like it as much this time b/c I used the ground lamb from our butchered lamb instead of ground beef. Not so tasty!

  15. We need to hang out and our husbands can commiserate over our dislike for recipes. Do you feel too boxed in? I do. I certainly end up wasting food, but I also create some great dishes. When I cook, that is. Cuz lately... Wendy is heating up with her Biggie Fries (oh! wait, they took the "Biggie" out of Biggie Fries, didn't they?).

    Fun WW!
