Our New Family

My boys, the lights of my life. Aren't they adorable?
Doesn't being new look so hard???

Bringing baby boy home... First car ride for Miles.

Chilling with Daddy in the hospital while Mommy had the best shower of her life... Ahh, the first shower after having a baby is always the best. Am I wrong?

Sweet profile.

Oh man, just sweetness....
I know the grandparents are going to love these... I am so badly trying to catch up. I promise updates will get better, maybe I can commit to 2 a week, for now anyways. We are trying to find a new home and move with in the next 2 months and we also have a new born...

Novice, I Think Not!

My very good friend, Kacey over at Chronicles of a Mommy has decided to expand on one of her many talents- photography. So convenient that I have a new born and she has a snazzy new camera.... Miles and I went over today while Mason was at school and she snapped and clicked away. He was pretty cooperative, about as good as a 3 week old can get.

Plus, I thought you guys would like to see some pictures that were not from the hospital. My little man has a great personality.

My heart is melting.

Turning to moosh.

could just snuggle him all day long.

So amazing.

Check out those baby blues...

Go on over and check out her blog... She always has something fun to talk about.

So Much To Tell....

Please forgive me for being absent. We have been so busy around our house...We had a baby! Jackson Miles Phillips joined our sweet clan on September 2nd at 12:39pm and he was 20 1/2 inches long and 7 lbs 5 oz. He is such an amazing baby. I am not sure if it is him being a wonderful baby or us being so much more relaxed now because we actually have a clue as to what we are doing... He sleeps a lot, poops a lot and eats all the time. It is so surreal to have a new baby and he completes our little family. We never knew we missed him, but now that we have him we could never go with out him. Mason is adjusting well to his new baby brother. We have had a few requests from him to take Miles back to the hospital, but other than that he adores him. Miles gets tons of love from his big brother and Curt and I just know they are going to be great friends... Sorry that you cannot see the baby in this picture, he was eating. When Miles was born he was super hungry. He started nursing right away and nursed for about 50 minutes.

This picture was taken the day before Miles was born. It was Mason's first day of school. He had a blast and there were no tears from me or Mason.
Although I love the time with Miles I have actually had a hard time deciding what to do with my time while Mason is at school. I know it will all fall into place.
On a much different note, Curt found out on our wedding anniversary that his department is downsizing and that he will be loosing his job in Nashville as of 11/15/09. To avoid loosing his job we might be moving to Atlanta. Actually there is a very BIG possibility we are moving there. We really love our home and our friends and how close we are to family. But a new adventure might be exciting, at least that is how we are trying to view it. We have been looking for homes in the area north of Atlanta and will be meeting with a real estate broker in about a week or two to schedule some home viewings...
I would love to have some new pictures of Miles and Mason up, but I lost my card reader again... Oh well, hopefully I can get some up the next time I have a quiet moment... Just know that even though I have been absent from blogging, I have been rocking my baby and spending tons of great time with Mason... I am loving every minute of it...

Bed Rest

I have been a terrible blogger.

I have excuses....

I am on bed rest, have been for almost 2 weeks...

Ewwww. Hypertension.

I guess I could have been blogging this entire time, but really, bed rest makes you feel off beat.

Curt's Mammie has been here taking care of us, she has been amazing- I could not ask for better.

The good news is that I am not completely confined to the bed, at least that was not how I took it.

So, when I feel good, I do some stuff and when I feel bad, I do nothing.

Here are some things that have been going on...

A punk kid was going too fast on our road and hit our mailbox. It was pretty exciting for me!!! Like we did not need anything else to deal with right now... Oh well, hopefully it will be fixed in a few days. For now, this is what it looks like...

I got crafty one day. I have a friend who wanted one for her little girls for her birthday... I love how it turned out. Kacey, I hope you do not mind me showing it!!! I was just so proud of my first ever girly shirt.... Yes, the button on top is crooked, I did that on purpose...

Before I went on bed rest, we made a trip to the park one day. I sat on the bench and milked the "9 months pregnant thing" and Curt chased Mason... It was a great day. I just love these two to pieces... I cannot wait for our new addition, Miles, to meet us on Wednesday....

Yup- You heard that right, we are inducing on Wednesday. Hopefully I will have some great pics up sometime on Thursday! Until then, I will be sitting my bum on the sofa trying to soak up my last days of just being Mason's Mom. We will be reading, watching movies about dirt bikes and dune buggies and getting in lots of snuggling.

Getting Closer

I had an appointment today for 36 weeks. I am happy to report that baby Miles is nice and healthy and getting ready to come and meet his new family! I am dilated to a 2 and a little over 50% effaced. The doctor went ahead and moved my induce date up from September 8th to September 2nd!!! So I have about 20 days until my sweet family of 3 becomes a family of 4!!!

I am feeling great, not sleeping much and I spend most of my time back and forth to the bathroom. But, overall, I feel like a million bucks!!!

Riding Bikes with Dad

Mason has a love for all things "bike" especially the ones that make noises and have motors... He also happens to adore his Daddy and everything that he does. So every-now-and-then Mason gets to take a spin around the neighborhood...
These two are so adorable...

Zoo-lishious

We went to the Zoo on Tuesday. It is one of Mason's favorite places to go. We also took one of Mason's favorite friends, Jack. His Mommy and little brother, Hudson, came along too. A great time was had by all...
Here is Mason and Jack showing some love trying to hug each other... They are pretty good buddies.
The GIANT snake on the playground was the most favorite attraction. The playground was the last stop and Mason had a MAJOR melt-down when it was time to leave...

Jack riding the carousel, just look at those BIG blue eyes...

Looking at the one of the exhibits...

I think this was the last time I will be able to take Mason before the baby comes, but we will definitely be going again in the fall when it cools down...

Not On The List...

Today, I had a super long to-do list... This shirt was not on it... But, I figured, "What the heck!"

Miles did not have his own shirt made by Mommy yet, so I thought I would whip him one right up!

I think he will like it!

PS- Have any of you ever used invisible thread? It looks like fishing line and is super hard to use. If you are feeling like putting your patients to the limit, try using this thread... I used it on the ric-rac water and the spout at the top.
The to-do list still has everything on it, I am hoping to get some stuff crossed off tomorrow so I can go into the weekend guilt-free!
Have a great weekend!

PSF- Busy Bee

This week has been super busy for us. I personally am trying to cram a ton of things that we need to do in before Mr. Miles makes his appearance is less than 40 days... Yes, you heard that right, I am super pregnant! Surprisingly, I am doing GREAT! The only issue I have is sore feet and I am sure that is from the weight...

Read on and see what we have been up too!

Daddy is seriously thinking about going Pro at dirt bike racing... Mason is not sure about it though...

Practicing on his new dirt bike... How stinking cute is this???

Growing a baby is such hard work, but someone has to do it... Just look how big!

Mason had a time out or two... Bless his little heart!

We had some visitors. I have a GrEaT friend that lives in Texas and she stopped by for a few hours on Wednesday!!! We had such a great time. Her oldest son's name is Cole and Mason kept calling him "boy". He is still calling him that... He must have had a great time because he wants "boy" to come back and play with him.

Oh, and the reason for not editing my photos... My sweet niece, Ella Gracin is visiting for the night... She has been nothing but a little jewel and I just love her to pieces...

Sorority Jewels

Yes, I know, most of you are not still in college or looking for a sorority necklace. This is just what I named it because I only sell the sorority version in a local shop here in Murfreesboro... It is special just for them. I can do most sorority symbols.

But, if you like the small simple style, you could always change it up a bit to your liking. How about "MOM" on the pea sized tag and a first initial for each of your kiddos... I can fit 4 letters or numbers on the pea sized tag with the standard font and more with my small font.

E-Mail me if you are interested in a personalized version.

Please E-Mail Mesh Boutique at mesh_boutique@yahoo.com. They would be happy to take your order...

I am on a strict 2 week waiting period until November 1st after the baby is born... I am set to induce on September 8th. After November 1, I will do my best to accommodate all rush orders...

WW- The Best

We did not make it to Florida (as I said in an earlier post) but we did make it to the lake... We had a blast. I mostly stood on the side and took pictures... Mason and Curt were so fun to watch playing in the water.

Curt must have done this 1,000 times. Mason kept coming right back up and saying, "again, again..." I think Curt was pretty exhausted, but at least he got an upper body work out that day- Ha!

This picture makes me laugh. I think Mason looks like a little bird trying to fly away and it looks like Curt is having a hard time letting him go...

Way. To. Much. Fun!

And who can get enough of these two walking hand in hand... Love it!

Done. Finally.

Mason has been in his BIG boy room for a few months... Wall art was the last thing I was worried about... But after some nudging from the Hubbs, I decided it was high time I got cracking...

I am by no means an artist. I like painting, but seriously it takes so much time and my attention span is really short.

I made them to match his MAIN bedding that I ordered for his bed. I got it from Company Kids. I also got it on SaLe!!! But if you like the bedding, it is too late, it is all gone... I hope he likes motorcycle bedding for a long time...

This is his bed with his new bedding on it and his paintings on the wall. Curt hung the trim and painted the walls and I did the decorating... His Gran had this old metal bed. Curt sanded it down and spray painted it... Honestly, it is one of my favorite things in his room.
My favorite painting was the "Harley" as Mason calls it...

I also did 2 smaller ones to go on each side of one of the big ones...

Another one of the smaller paintings.

Curt advised me that a "letter" is not to go on the "number" plate... It was too late, I do not think I could have covered it up. Also, I like the "M".

Fun, not easy, but FUN! I would do it again, because Mason is so proud of them... He says, "Yook, my Mom made this painking!"
And for that I would do it a million more times.
I wonder if I have any more projects in me before the baby comes... I guess we will just have to see...
We have a busy week, my best friend growing up is comign to town and she is coming to my house for the first time... I am super excited... I wish she could stay longer...
We might be making a trip to the Zoo later this week if the weather holds out...
Friday, I am keeping my niece overnight while her Mommy & Daddy go to a concert... I am too excited...
Also on Friday, my M.I.L is coming into town to stay the night.
Saturday, is my baby shower for Miles... I am so excited! Katie, Mom & Carrie, if you are reading, I HATE GAMES, espically that one where you measure the belly... I am really good at paybacks and I can hold out for a long time so you will never suspect it... LOL!!!
PS- the spell check is not working.... I might be crafty, but I am not a spelling bee winner... Don't judge..

Hit Your Knees

My friends, you have heard me talk about baby Stellan before. He is sick, bad sick, once again. I sat here just a few minutes ago weeping over my lap top for this sweet little boy (while my healthy little boy lies sleeping and dreaming sweet thoughts in his bed upstairs) whom I do not even know, but have watched and prayed for since before he was born. I believe that God hears prayers, I believe that HE answers prayers (in the fashion that is his own.) I believe that if we all pray for Stellan and his family HIS will will be done.

Please my friends, HIT YOUR KNEES, or however you do it and send a shout out the Father above on Stellans behalf...

Prayers for Stellan

Weekend in Review

It has been chilly here, literally like 50ish at night and right around 70 during the day. Hopefully that will change for today, I would love to get some time in the sun...

Here is Mason yesterday when we went to check out the "beach." We are not at the ocean, but a lake- a beautiful lake...

We intended to be in Florida this week, but the Doctor said that was way too far for me to travel at this point. After all, we are 1 week away from when I went on bed rest with Mason. I am not even trying to go on bed rest this time. How in the heck would I do that....?

We also visited some family. This is Mason's Poppie (Paternal Great-Grandfather.) They had a great time. Mason even got to start the tractor... Even though it scared the jeepers out of him, he still loved it.

This is Maw Maw, Mason's Paternal Great-Great Grandmother. He really enjoys her. She will be 90 on her birthday, and man-o-man, she is a spit-fire...

We also partook in some local activities that we just knew Mason would love.... Have y'all ever been to a tractor pull? It might just be a Tennessee thing. Mason was pretty scared at first, but he warmed right up after a while...

We went to a Flea Market. It was not a fabulous one. The best thing about it was the excitement Mason got out of getting some cheap matchbox cars.
