He Wooshes.

Mason and I took a walk to the mail box the other day, just like we do most days- unless he is engrossed in a TV show.

I was sorting through the mail walking back to the house. Everything I sorted through Mason would ask if it was for him. I looked at his sweet face covered with peanut butter and said, "sorry buddy, not today." He looked up at me with his sweet copper eyes and said, "Awww, Mom, I never have any mail. I sure woosh I had a mail for me." My heart broke.

Here is my plea- Please send my kid some mail. Hey, we might even mail you back- like pen pals! Unfortunately this only applies to close friends and family who I know are not ax murders.

Just e-mail me at lesleephillips@gmail.com and I will send you our address.

I already told my Mom about Mason's wooshing. She mailed him a simple letter and she drew a picture of her, my Dad and their animals. It was perfect, just what he wanted. He has been carrying that picture around all afternoon telling stories about it.

Ok- $0.44 is all you have to cough up... Lets see what we get... You do not want my poor, sweet Mason to be wooshing for letters and not ever get any do you?

Train Depot

Seriously!
Check out these cuties.
We went into town today to run some errands.
Then we stopped by the old train depot for some snap shots of the boys.
Mason was a train driver.
Miles showed off his amazing smile.
I snapped pictures.
Curt chased the train driver.
The vibrant colors were amazing and made for some awesome spring photos.

Moto Mason

He rides through the yard with the greatest of ease.
When he gets stuck, he sweetly asks his dad, "help me please!"

When he does not look where he is going he makes our stomachs queese.

And he never smiles when Mommy says, "CHEESE"

Keeping Up With Mason {PSF} Style

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and ???

Sometimes it is hard to keep up with Mason. He is fast, smart and sneaky.
I try hard.
I try even harder to get him on camera.
I wish my camera had a function that let me put text notes to each picture so I could remember every single thing.
Ooooh, I am so going to invent that... DON'T copy me- OK!

Not exactly sure where he is headed with this chair and wire whisk.
But, one thing is for sure, he is on an important mission.

Just before I took this picture he told me that he was feeding Gabby dinner.

I am pretty sure that this dinner consisted of fresh mulch he stirred up with his whisk- pretty sure.

Then he told me that he was making me dinner.

Just a little scared and glad the food was going to be imaginary.

I asked what was for dinner- "Green Eggs and Ham!" he says.

Here he is cooking up my eggs & ham on his stove.

Can you see "it" piled up there on top of his little stove?

I just love how he keeps me guessing and how he lets me see through his imagination.

Moments like these make all the crazy moments worth it.

Seriously?!? {Wordful Wednesday}

Mason is getting so BIG!

His new favorite thing is watching his T.V. shows on my iPod.

We just discovered this and I think it is going to come in quite handy in times of need.

Unless he wears it out while we are at home.

I sure hope not.

Seriously, how much Max & Ruby, Backyardigans & Dora can one kid take...

I mean, I may be letting him ruin his mind with too much T.V.

But I sure as heck am not going to let my kid drink soda with calories...
I am up for Mom Of Year PLEASE VOTE!

Someone Has To Save The Day!

Iron Man runs as fast as he can all around the house... I am on the look out for a new Iron Man costume... This one is a 4-6 if you know anyone who has the size bigger, i would gladly buy it off of them. If you look closely, this one is getting a bit small...
I just know his girl friends are going to love these pictures when he is 16....

Wheels On The Bus

This picture is of Mason listening to some children's songs I have on my iPod. He would not let me fix this head phones, he is so strong willed...
Tuesday, I was putting Mason to bed. He really wanted to watch a movie and not go to bed. I told him that he had to go to bed and he got a bit upset. You know, throwing a 3 year old tantrum... I had already turned out the lights and he started crying. He said, "Mom, Mason has a problem!!!" I said, "what problem?" He said, " I am very sad and you cannot see how sad I am. Please turn on the light so you can see how sad I am..." Silly kid, where does he get this stuff.... I do not know where he gets his dramatic side from, really I don't!!!

Cute

Mason just went to the fruit bowl and said, " Mason like to eat healthy.... I fink I like a banana... You would like one too, Mom? Sure! Ok, Mason got you one right here. First you open yours and then please mind to open mine too!"

He is so funny. He answers his own questions sometimes and he is trying to learn how to put together correct sentences.

Who He Is- Mason

Mason is the most amazing 3 year old I have ever met, of course he is mine... I wanted to post some stuff about him so I make for sure that I never forget just the way he is now. Life is passing so fast and I often think I am forgetting things...

Mason,

You are getting so inquisitive. You want to know just how everything works. You take things apart, you ask a ton of questions and you study almost everything so you can know all of the details.

You know more about cars than any kid I know. You know a ton of cars down to the make, model and year.

You get a little sad and emotional when you hear a sad song, even if it is a slow tune, you get sad...

You make the most elaborate car races on the kitchen counter and you get ticked if someone touches it...

You like to use "big" words and sometimes you use them wrong- it is cute.

You love to read and wouldn't mind if I read 10 books a night.

You named Miles' paci's "rum gum jumps."

You think a fire in the fire pit means you are "camping out."

You are a sweet brother.

You have a big imagination.

You make a mess in your room and blame it on people who don't even live in our house.

You normally tell at least one person at the grocery store something embarrassing about me... I really appreciate how honest you are to complete strangers.

You worry about lots of stuff... Normally just your cars and toys. You will say, "Mom, I am really worried about my monster truck, I think he has a flat tire."

You love fruit snacks and have a sweet tooth that cannot be cured, just like me.

You will only let me (mom) put you to nap or bed...

You hate to have your teeth brushed, hate it...
You love all animals, sea creatures and bugs. You love to take trips to the aquarium and the zoo... You always learn something new on our fun trips and you are always so proud of yourself.

You recently decided that the Swiffer sweeper was a horse and you named your horse, Callie. I took you to Wal-Mart hoping to buy you a pony on a stick and you said, "Mom, what about Callie?"

You name your army men.

You love to dress up as Iron Man and you ask me every day what I'm going to before Halloween...

You are learning how to climb, well... You have been moving pieces of furniture to climb and get to the candy jar.

You tell the lady at the bank drive thru that she is pretty just so you can get a sucker...
You are very compassionate, you care about others feeling as it bothers you if you hurt them.

You come up-stairs to get in the bed with me every night.

You love to work on stuff and you tell me, "don't bother me, Mom, I am busy working."

You love to play doctor; looking into my ears and listening to my heart, but you hate to go to the doctor.

You are smart.

You are clever and sneaky.

You love to be a helper.

You make the best car, motor cycle and monster truck noises.

You are your Dad's mini shadow.

You love to play with kids that are older than you.

You have great manners, that makes me happy.

You are getting rather tall.

You do not like the dark, strangers or weird textures.

You understand what "rude" is and you do not like people being rude.

You sing to yourself when playing in your room but when you catch me watching, you stop.

You want to be alone while you are using the bathroom.

You close your eyes when you get in trouble, as if I cannot see you with your eyes closed.

You once caught a caterpillar. We made it a home in a jar and you named it "baby". It turned into a moth and we let it go back into the wild.

You randomly tell the people you love that you love them. It is so special when you say it and I can really tell you mean it.

You are very attached to your "brown snugglie." You will not sleep with out it... Good thing it is big and hard to loose. Bad thing that it is the only one we have and it has been a chore finding one like it, just in case.

You are my first son and I am so proud of you. Your Dad and I are always telling each other how lucky we are to have you. I love to spend my days with you, I would not have it any other way. You are a wonderful tester of my patients and sometimes you stretch me to the limits. I always learn from you and I hope that you can always learn from me. You are beautiful, smart and funny. I hope you get to be everything you aspire to be in life, I will do my very best as your Mom to make sure you achieve your goals.
Love Always,
Mom

Ripley's Aquarium

We took a family trip to The Smokies. Since we live in east TN now, we are not too far. We wanted to take Mason to the Ripley's Aquarium, he loves fish and all sorts of sea creatures and we just knew he would love it...
Here are some fun pictures from our trip in no particular order.

Curt & Mason watching the fish.
The big Christmas tree outside of the aquarium, Mason wanted to know where the presents were?? Silly kid!

Mason's favorite crab, he thought he might want to take him home... We have this problem with the lobsters at Kroger too... He gets so sad and wants to take them home...

In the tunnel under the tank... It was pretty cool to see all the aquatic creatures from underneath!

Eating Dip n' Dots by the sting rays...

He thought this was the best. There were sea horses all around.

In the tunnel again.

We love star fish.

And jelly fish are just simply the best.

I hardly ever get a picture because I am normally behind the camera... It is hard to get the hubbs to take a picture that is not blurry.

We had a great time and Mason is already planning our trip back. He loves the aquarium. He also really wants a trip to the zoo as well. When it gets warmer, I am sure we will get a membership to the K-town zoo... Miles was on our trip but slept through the whole thing, that is fine because he is too small to remember and Mason was really fast and needed both of our attention now that he is not in a stroller.

Silly boy!

Mason just said, "mom, when I grow up I will be too big to eat lots of candy! Mason is happy to be a little boy!"

He gets funnier every single day! It is a good thing I am smart and I don't fall for his little stunts! ; )

Using the bathroom and such

Will I ever use the bathroom in privacy again?

What is the facination with a Mommy who just wants to do her business in peace?

I literally used the bathroom today with this guy hanging in his sling...

And this guy... Forget about it.... It is like he sences when I have to go and he just starts following me all over the house. Heaven forbid that I shut the door.

At least Miles just wants to be touching me. Mason can talk and ask questions... I will let you use your immagination.... I am sure if you are a Mom you will not have to get too creative.

Blah blah blah

I really have no excuse for my lack of blogging lately. We are all settled in, Miles is an amazing baby, Mason is only as wild as a normal 3 year old and Curt still has not started work yet.
We live in an amazing place really. I love it here, way more than I thought I would. We live way out of town, so it takes forever to get anywhere- but I do not mind really. I saw a bald eagle fly across the lake two days in a row. There is a blue herron that visits us almost every day. There is a big fat beaver that swims by on occasion. And to top it all off, about 250 ducks have been hanging out around our dock for the past few days. The scenery is amazing

There is a beautiful Maple in the yard and I put Mason up in it and took his picture... Loving the fall colors...

The picture below is of me off of our bedroom balcony.

Eggs, Eggs, Eggs

I was nursing Miles on the couch the other day and Mason said he wanted a drink. I have his drinks placed in the fridge so he can reach them and bring them to me and I can open them. I said, "you can go and get a juice and bring it to me."

Honestly, I lost track of time because I was watching Dr. OZ. Mason must have been in the kitchen for around 2-3 minutes.

He came in the living room and started talking very fast saying, "eggs, eggs, eggs- Momma... All those eggs got all cracked up... They have baby chicks inside- eggs, eggs, eggs." I will admit that I freaked. How in the heck did he get eggs and what is he talking about????

I walked in the kitchen to find the egg carton opened and all of the eggs from the fridge lined up on the edge of the bar. When I say on the edge, if I would have sneezed some of them would have fallen off. I guess Mason has added scaling the fridge like a rocky cliff to his list of hidden talents.
The good news is that none of the eggs broke on the floor. The bad news is that we lost 4 eggs in trying to get them back into the carton. It seems that Mason's sweet little inquiring mind wanted to know how it feels when you smash one on the counter. Then he loved it so much that he kept on doing it. I could not get them out of his hands fast enough. I was trying to juggle the camera, Miles and get some eggs back into the carton safely...

I hope I can always remember his sweet and funny little stories. Good thing I have scrap books and a blog...

Halloween 09

I must say that this year Halloween was put on the back burner. I usually love to buy cheesy decorations for Mason to enjoy and we normally end up with at least 4 pumpkins on our porch. I swear, this year, we woke up on Saturday and realized it was Halloween and we did not even have a pumpkin... Curt picked one up on his way home from work and he carved it up for us, power tool style...

The hubs and "skelly bones." Miles was a skeleton, Mason called him "skelly bones." Miles slept through the whole trick-or -treating thing while Daddy carried him...

My little Iron Man keeping his head warm. Mason is such a smart boy, he decided early on that he would hitch a ride on whatever stroller he could find available in between houses... Here he is with Lincoln.

Here is the finished product of our pumpkin. I swear I actually participated, I was just behind the camera the whole time...

One Sweet Dino

Yesterday, I got crafty.
A trip to Hobby Lobby will do that to ya.

We have some friends coming into town at the end of the month and I wanted to make matchy- matchy shirts for Mason and his long lost buddy!
He thought it was pretty cool. He wanted to wear it right away...

I let him be my model. I would give him a 9, since I got this cute picture out of it.

Of course it was inspected very well...

What do you think...?
I am making one for my niece next with a butterfly.
