Mommies for Music

This weekend was "MAJOR" in the words of V. Beckham--- I lover her. Her boobs are a bit crazy, but she is glam.

First off this weekend was to be a great girls weekend get away with spa treatments, great friends and super yummo food. It was most of all of that but Kacey and I got a call last week to have a vending booth at a local consignment show. This was a big decision to make because we had been planning girls weekend for months. Luckily Michelle and Shelly were extremely understanding, they even came to see our booth- after their spa treatments.... Heffers!
Our booth was really successful, we got the opportunity to make some sales as well as get our names out there. We are definitely thankful to the multiples club for letting us set up a booth and be a part of the sale they had.
After the sale, we jetted home to pack bags in lightning speed and meet up with the other two girls. We headed up to Nashville. We checked into our super fabulous hotel- I am not telling the name because i am about to bash them. I want to be fare because they tried to rectify the situation...
We walked into the room and realized what a deal we scored on the room (thanks Shelly) because they were really nice rooms, I mean really nice. We were also very excited because they were next door which means that we had one of those connecting door ways. I got ready for the shower and realized that there was no hot water. They tried to move us rooms, but we really loved out connecting rooms... We said no and settled to shower in another room. All drama set aside, we got showers and made it to eat on time. We ate dinner at Melting Pot and I should say it was yummy! I have never eaten there and it was defiantly a treat. Especially the desert. That was my favorite part and I could go there only for the desert.... After desert we headed to dance. I mean we really danced it up. I have not had such a fun time dancing in a very long time. We cut loose and it was too much fun.
It was the most fun I have ever had with the girls and we are definitely making anther girls trip in the future. Now since we had so many issues with the rooms, they offered us two free rooms to use in the future, which is really awesome. Maybe they will have the kinks worked out the next time...
Ladies,
I had a fabulous time and I cannot wait to go again...

What we have been up to.....

Someone told me that I was slacking at my blogging..... Ha, well I am back at it... I just needed a push. I have been so busy with starting the business, Kacey and I are like chickens with no heads lately. Never mind, we still have family's and personal business on top of our new project. We love our business and we have GREAT support form our husbands, which means the world. Not that we did not expect it, but sometimes venturing into new territories warrants some questioning... We have only had minimal questions form them... That makes things a ton easier. I cannot help but think in the back of their minds that they think we are NUTS-O, but they are not showing it, so that is all that matters, right?

Mason has been keeping me busy. I am loving being there for him when he needs me. I am also loving running my house hold. There were so many things that I have been missing out on. Our house is currently under construction, well not really, but I am spring cleaning and organizing closets, throwing stuff away, giving stuff away and getting ready for a garage sale in the summer....

Life is grand for us. It was decently warm yesterday, so Curt mowed the yard and Mason helped. I chased him around and took pictures of him, Curt and our beautiful yard. All the pretty stuff was planted before Mason, I never have time for yard work lately. Maybe that will change with him getting older.

Quick, funny story...
If you are eating, STOP!

Last night I headed up stairs to go to bed and a nasty smell hit my nose. The cat had pooped in her box. STINKY! So, I got a bag (Wal-Mart bag) and some lysol to get things cleaned up. I scooped promptly into the bag while only breathing through my mouth... I was headed out of the room and closing up the bag at the same time.... All of the sudden... something warm under my foot.... AHHHH, I screamed... My first thought is that Gabby pooped or something in the floor... It was dark so I turned on the light and the Wal Mart bag had a hole in the bottom. I had smooshed cat poo all over the carpet and all over my foot. NASTY!!! I screamed for Curt and he came to see what was the matter. All he could say is "it's your cat..." That was so mean. He did bring me a towel and some carpet cleaner, so that was nice. Then he just complained how stinky it was. So, if you have a cat and you go to use a Wal Mart bag to empty the box, then MAKE SURE that there are no HOLES in the bag before you use it....
Resume Eating...
Enjoy pictures...
Blooming peach tree
Purple Flox (sp?)
My hunk doing some yard work...
Mason could not resist. This is also how I have to vacuum the house if he is awake and has anything to do with it....
So Cute, I almost had him mowing, but he put it down and went to see what Daaddy was doing...
Playing in the car is one of Mason's favorite activities
Our home at spring time... So pretty
Some stuff that I planted before Maosn was born. I love the ivey.
Watching Daddy to see how he does it... CUTE!

ETSY SHOP

Hello and Good morning...

Hop on over to Kiki and Lele's Etsy SHOP!!! We are so excited for this to launch and we have already sold 1 item.... Maybe not big to you, but we are stoked. This was also not a person that we knew, just a random lady that liked our stuff. Kudos for us...

On another note... Mother's Day is right around the corner. Maybe you can leave little hints for that Man of yours, just maybe he will pick up on them. If you are not a Mom, you can still leave hints for a birthday or a special anniversary. Would it not be fun for someone to have a piece of jewelry made especially just for you from their heart. I know I think it is cool.

Always remember, we can do pretty much anything you like... If you have something in particular, just let us know and we will be glad to make a custom piece for you that no one else has.

Dallas Bound

I just bought my tickets for Dallas. Mason and I will be traveling to stay with the Drysdale's in Dallas, TX! I am so stoked to see Amanda, get to know Joe and little Cole.

For those of you who doe not know, Amanda is my childhood best friend. We grew up across the street from each other on Mac's Lane. We now each have very fabulous lives and families of our own but are much farther than across the street. Last year she and her little family flew all the way to TN for my wedding only to get to see me for about 20 minutes. It was so bitter sweet. I finally got to see her it had been 5 years and no time to talk. I knew I had to take a trip.

This will also be Mason's first plane ride. I am sure I will have plenty of pictures to post to document this occasion. I am taking him all by myself, so we shall see just how much fun it will really be. Any suggestions on air plane fun will definitely be appreciated.

Amanda,
I cannot wait to catch up and hang out and do tons of girl stuff and watch our little guys play with each other. I bought the tickets from 4/29- 5/3. It will be short for so much time apart, but I am sure we will pack it with excitement.
Love ya

Kiki & Lele

Our blog is up and running. Go over and check us out. We are very excited to offer this jewelry to you as well as be able to donate to charity. Share us with your friends, we would greatly appreciate it!

Maybe Next Weekend...

Well, I thought we might have had a bit of a great weekend, and we did... Curt and I went out for his birthday. Mom and Dad came up to watch Mason- Thanks Mom and Dad, you guys are awesome... We came back to the house after the movie so they could get home. We decided to snuggle and watch a movie in the bed. It was over at around 12:30 am. We were getting ready for bed and I asked Curt to go in and check on Mason and make sure he had covers. While he was in there I heard a funny noise on the monitor and in comes Curt with Mason screaming and vomit all over the both of them. We caught it. Curt's brother Cliff had a virus and I guess Mason got it. Poor little guy, he was just sick last weekend. Poor cliff I know he has to have felt horrible as well. We stayed in on Sunday because there was not much sleeping on Saturday night. I think Mason and I stayed in our p.j.'s all day long. Well we changed at least 3 times each from all of the throw up. The funny thing is that he was actually running around like a little crazy man in between purge sessions. We got worries by the end of the day because he had not kept anything down all day long. I knew that there was nothing that can be done for a virus, but dehydration was on my mind. The doc said that he needed to keep something down for at least 3 hours and so we started giving smaller amounts of Pedia lite more frequently instead of a lot at one time and he came around. I was so pleased because I did not want to spend the night with Mason in the ER getting IV fluids. NOT FUN! He is doing much better this morning and actually has kept some toast down and more pedia lite. YAY!

Maybe next weekend... we can make it with out any sickness at our house.... I am going to work on getting some meat back on his bony little body. He has lost over 2 ponds, which is a lot on his lanky frame...

on my way to lonely

So, Curt and Mason are taking off to Curt's mom's house for some much needed Gran time... I know they will have a blast. I am staying behind to work, yuck... But whatever will I do with my time after I get off tonight and tomorrow night... These are some thoughts...

tonight-
work with Kacey on some jewelry
business license
tax i.d. number
reserve a booth for moon pie festival
make some more products
take pictures
order supplies

- yep- that is definitely where I will be tonight. Plus, I will get some much needed cuddle time with the twins and Ryder. They love me... My cuddle time with these babies also keeps me taking my BC.. Kacey, you are SUPER WOMAN!

Thursday night-

pedicure
manicure
make jewelry
draw out some designs
clean carpets

Well, maybe I will not clean the carpets. That means I will have to put the carpet cleaner together and actually do work on my night off... Plus, they do not really need it. They are pretty clean thanks to my Dyson- that thing rocks... I will never ever buy a different type of vacuum cleaner... Wow, i ddefinitely got off track....

What are your thoughts on what I should do with my down time???
Kacey, you are not allowed to post on here, I know what you think I need to be doing with my time off.... HA!

ETSY, website, blogs.... OH MY!

OK, so Kacey have launched... almost. We are so excited and cannot wait to show off our stuff. We are making mostly jewelry and hand stamped personalized jewelry at that. We cannot wait to show. We have dabbled this weekend in different types of stones and fun stuff.

The name will be, "Kiki & Lele" we like it... They are both nickname that have been given to us over time, mine by Kacey's little boy Ryder and hers by Michelle's little boy, Ben! Keep checking in to see when I am going to post a link to the new blog for Kiki & Lele... Our website is under construction. We will also have a booth at the coveted Bell Buckle Craft Festival this year in August and at the Moon Pie Festival in May. So, if you live in Tennessee, or you visit in May, check us out.

Web site soon to debut...

Monkey Man

Mason,

You are truly a mess, in a good way. You are so funny how you want things your way and how if you do not want something, you push it away. You know exactly which foods you like, where you want to go and that riding in the car is not your favorite activity... You are also still convinced that everything you touch is "hot." We were at lunch today and you refused to eat your lunch because everything I handed you was "hot." I knew it was not, and I really think you just wanted out of your chair so you were pretending to not want the food... You are so funny with your particular attitude. I hope you never loose this, even though it may make it harder on me, I want you to always know what you want and go for it- which is exactly what you do now.

I love you bug,
love, mommy

We are sooo Excited

Click on the link at the bottom. It is a post that Kacey wrote, my partner in crime.... I knew I would write the same thing, so I copied the link to her site so you can read the EXCITING news we have..... Click here to read... Also, you can check out her blog if you have not already. You will lover her, I know you will.... I do and that says a TON!

Thanks Mom, I needed this.... I am BLESSED to be STRESSED...

A POEM ABOUT OUR GIRLFRIENDS
Someone will always be prettier.
Someone will always be skinnier.
Someone will always be smarter.
Some of their houses will be bigger.
Some will drive a better car.
Their children will do better in school.
And their husband will fix more things around the house..
So let it go, and love you and your circumstances.
Think about it!
The prettiest woman in the world can have hell in her heart.
And the most highly favored woman on your job may be unable to have children.
And the richest woman you know, she's got the car, the house, the clothes~~~~ might be lonely.
And the word says, 'If I have not Love, I am nothing.' So, again, love you. Love who you are.
Look in the mirror in the morning and smile and say, 'I am too Blessed to be Stressed and too Anointed, to be Disappointed!'
'Winners make things happen~~ Losers let things happen.'
Be 'Blessed' Ladies~~~~~ and pass this on to encourage another woman. 'To the world you might be one person, but to one person you could be the world--

Mom, you are amazing. You made me feel so much better with this e-mail. You always know the right times to call, the right things to say and the right times to give great big hugs. I love you so much and even more now that I am a MOM. I know that this morning when I was whining to you that you have been through everything I am going through right now X 3. I do not know how you did it, but you did a really great job! I hope I can at least be half as great as you!

Love you much,
Leslee

ps- now I understand why you would say, "can I at least go to the bathroom alone?" Nope, not for at least 10 more years...... love you!

Happy Tuesday!- to the Mommies

Today is one of those mornings..... You know the kind when you get up and have ZERO time to get a shower before you little one wakes up... I had to be at work this morning and I guess Mason heard the alarm becasue he was up at the same time. Great, well at least my hair is semi-clean, right? So, I got a fast shower and he watched some Baby Einstein, life saver... But soon after it went off he was pulling on my robe and whining... I love that little monkey, but really, I could not concentrate. I know the hardest thing I was working on was mascera, but Mommy needs 2 eyes.... So we go down stairs for some breakfast. He did not want what I gave him, he pushed it off of the tray. At this point we are very whiny... I wish Curt was here so I could follow him around and pull on his pants leg and whine to him. I do not think he realizes what mornings are like at our house since he comes in right about happy time... Next I got dressed... I was into all black today. So I put on my sassy black turtle neck sweater and some black slacks... Whoo Hoo I look HOT today... Well, that was until Gabby decided to rub up againts me and get red dog hair all over the pants. I could not find my lent roller and to top it off Mason got into tsome hair gel and decided that I needed a bit on my butt.... AHHHHHHH. Breathe.... in..... out...... So I get myself cleaned up get Mason satisfied and Curt gets home and I scoot out the door. I walk in the door and someone says, "you got something on your bum..." Descrete????, not really this persons type of behavior... So, everyone turns and looks at my bum which has hair gel smeared on it- oopse.... Embarrassed I run to the bathroom and clean my self up.

So, I ask you Chicken Little is there anything else coming my way today, maybe the sky???

Now 5 things that make me happy for a stress reliever...
1. Mason when he first wakes up and he needs cuddle time with me and every stuffed animal he has... Always interesting, always FUN!
2. Getting to work not looking like I chased around a 17 month old all morning...
3. The pedi that Kacey and I are getting pronto.... To put it into Kacey's words, " a peti has turned from a luxery to a necessity, bummer..."
4. Organization- my life is getting a make over....
5. My new momagenda. It is a mommy planner. It is so fabulous. I love it more every day and it only came in the mail yesterday. It has places for all the kiddos, which i only have one but whatever. It has a place to plan dinner and it has the month at a glance and each day! I love it, love it, love it. Plus, they monogrammed it with my initials and it is purple... FUN> So, I am on the road to stay at home organized Mom-o-rama!

ps- I guess my spelling is getting better, I only misspelled one word and i meant to.... Yes, this is a big victory for me...

Seriously?

Ok, first off, still no pictures. I have not taken any but my dad took some of Mason when he went for the weekend to my parents house. As soon as I can get them back and sort through them, I will post them... Posts are normally not any fun with out pictures of the cute little ones.... I do not actually think you read what I write....

Next to my funny key story... This might be long, not so sure until it is all down...

Last night when Curt left for work, he took the Volvo... I thought this is weird but he has been driving it a lot lately becasue we are selling our other car... But I did not think too much of it, Brothers and Sisters was on and I was way too into it... So, this morning after I dressed and fed Mason it was time to warm the car, so I went looking for the keys. When I drive, the keys are always put right back into my purse, becasue that is a good place for keys- more on that later... Anyways back to the story... I could not find the keys, anywhere. I drove Curt's car to work on Friday and I knew we did not take it anywhere all weekend... So, I called Curt and he started giving me the 3rd degree about misplacing stuff, which (sorry hunny) is him, not me. I am always the one who finds the stuff that is misplaced. I knew they were not anywhere in the house becasue I went on a cleaning rampage on Sunday and definatley would have found them and put them in the right place, my purse... He was giving me tips on where to look and how I should always put stuff back where it goes and then I can find it.... ( I now find this conversation comical) Well, he then tells me that he might have used them on Saturday when he was moving around the cars to get the camaro out of the garage... Ding, Ding, Ding.... I knew I did not have them last and instantly felt better, but I still had no keys and 5 minuites to go until I had to be at work.... Well after moving the cars on Saturday he also went dirt bike riding with Brian... He starts telling me to look in the pants he wore but I know the keys are not in there because I washed them and they would have come out in the dryer... No keys in the dryer. We get off the phone becasue the sitter is at the house and I need to get her settled before I get more frusterated becasue I still have no keys... He calls back and lets me know that he talked with Brian and the keys are in Brian's surburban.. What? how could this happen, you always put stuff right back into the right place, I ask??? He says, well I put them into the tool box which is a really safe, good place for keys to be if you are out in the woods bike riding.... Seriously?

I love you honey I hope you are not mad about this post.. It is all in good fun, and only to show that I am right- sometimes...

More official.....

So, it is getting pretty official around here... I am really going to leave my job- FOR REAL! I put in my notice with my boss last Tuesday and we decided that the end of March will be good for everyone... Ok, whatever, I can make that work.... At the time I was excited to leave, still am... But, I have always worked... Since I was 15, so this is new for me. I have not always loved working, and I do not particuarly love my job now, but it is mine.... Not to say that my new job- at home with Mason- will not be even better. I am just embarking on a new part of my life, one I have been starving for since Mason was born... Do not get me wrong, I am just realizing that change will come a bit harder than I had originally anticipated... Why am I posting this? Well, today we hired my replacement, that made it permenant. She starts training ASAP! I do not have an easy job, it may seem that way becasue I enjoy blogging and shopping for fun stuff on-line and e-mailing Kacey all day. I am just way better at time management than most of you know... Ha, I got one up on you! So, I am buying a day planner, a new one. I have one for work, but that is work. I want one with a fresh start so I can plan out meals, cleaning schedules and errands and what-not... I love to plan, that it what I am almost always doing at work- planning out my day, week and anything else I can think of... So, If you know of any cute, efficent kinds of planner that will have spaces big enough for what I want and still not cost a ton and it still has to be cute too, let me know. I am definately excited about making the change even more official with a new planner. Am I a total dork?
Yes, I know that this was random and it definately needed to be devided into different paragraphs for different thoughts... this is just how my brain is working today!!!

Happy Late Valentine's Day

To those of you who I did not speak to yesterday, Happy Valentine's Day from the Phillips Family! I made card's for Curt and Mason and Mason picked Curts card out at Target... He is still a little too young to make one. He did help me write his name though- too cute! I got Curt a few little love gifts that we exchanged last night after he woke up. Mason got a book called, "Never too little to Love." I love it, such a cute book. He really enjoyed it last night at story time... I got Jack Johnson- not really Jack, but his CD! It is lovely I am rocking out at my desk today and enjoying life. Curt had an extreemly long few days at work and not sleeping too well, so I took off yesterday and enjoyed Valentine's Day with Mason. We ran errands, worked around the house and cooked our traditional spaghetti. I must say, it gets better every year! I really do cook spaghetti more than once a year, maybe 2 times a year, Ha! Curt brought me a Strawberry Sunday, it was delightful.

Tonight is the real treat we are headed on a date to Nashville with out our little man, so sad, but so fun! He is going to stay with my parents for the night. I love that kiddo but a nice dinner as a couple is so rewarding and relaxing- love it! I am just now to the point where I can actually enjoy a nice dinner with Curt with out Mason and not feel bad about it.

New Developments....

So here is the news I have been hanging over your heads for a few days.....
Drum roll please.......
Starting around the 3rd week in March, I will start sating home with Mason.... YAY!!!!!!!! This may not be such big news to other people, but to US, it is HUGE! First of all I have always wanted ot be a stay at home Mom... I think it is a job that some can do and others may prefer to be at work. We have had such a very hard time with childcare since the daycare incident that we decided taht Mason will never go back to Daycare until he is old enough to talk to us and tell us what is going on.... I am also going to take some classes to finish up my teaching degree. I am so close, 20 hours and student teaching... I can almost taste it. I am not wanting to teach anytime soon, right now I want to have babies and raise them, that is my job for now.... But when they go to school, I will be heading in the door with them. This will truely be FUN!

Well, so much fro rambeling. I am sure the news is not what you thought it might be, but it sure is exciting new for us and Mason. He seems like such a happier child when we are with him then when I call home and he is crying. Now that will rip your heart right out of your chest....

Lost-
Lost is our favorite show, for those of you who do not watch it, is ROCKS. Last night was pretty good too! I just cannot get enough. I am hoping that since the writers strike is over, maybe they will get inspired and write another season... I will really be very sad when Lost is over.... But for now, I am loving it!

ps- my spell check is still not working, so if you run across any mispelled words, just laugh and go on. I am a horrible speller, plus I am a really fast typer, this is a bad combo!

Can you read????

Ok, so I cannot even spell my last name. I was looking over my blog and I realized that I spelled my last name wrong. "Philllips 101?" My name only has 2 l's.... I am such a funny girl... I guess it will have to stay that way until I have time to fix it!

Updates....

So, you might be wanting to know, "What in the heck has happened to us...?" Well, to be honest, I was holding out to try and make an inspiring post for #100... Well, I keep putting it off and now I am having blogger withdrawls.... So, I am going to update you on the Phillips family instead of some list of 100 things that you are not going to read anyhow....

We have had a bit of the nasties at our house. First the babysitter brought it over, then Mason came down with it, then me and now Curt.... At least it is not the flu. Everyone has been vaccinated this year except form me, so we are riding it out, so far so good!

Last week the babysitter was gone the whole week tending to her sick munchkin, so we ran around like crazy chickens trying to get Mason taken care of during the day while I am working and Curt is sleeping.... What a week, I probably saw Curt 1.5 hours for the whole week total.... YUCK, so needless to say, I was so happy to see the weeknd on its way... Well, then we all got sick. So we stayed in most of the weekend trying to get some strenght back. I was mostly sick all day Saturday. Lets just say that things really fall apart when Mom gets sick. I think God gives Mommies special graces and special germ fighting agents so they can get better soon and the Daddy's and the babies can have someone to take care of them... Thank goodness.

Mason is talking so much now. Some new Mason-isms:
sish (fish)
mmmlo (marshmello)
diddle, diddle, diddle ( a new song that Mason sings to anything he likes)
Out
Down
ni nite
eeeys (keys)
cat (he got this from Curt one day when he was yelling at the cat)
baba (bottle)- yes, I know I should have weened him before he figures out where we put them and what goes in them
His table manners are getting much better now that we are making a very good effort to eat at home, at the table at least 5 nites a week!
He loves to stack things and then knock them down.
If he wants something, he will come and get your hand and lead you to whatever it is that he needs...
He is such a little climber. I was doing laundry yesterday and I caught him on top of the dog cage, we have a pretty big dog which = a big cage. He pushed his Little Tykes table over to the cage to gain access ot the top. I was pretty sacred, but not so scared that I got it on video first....
And, he can pretty much open any door in the house except fot he fridge... Thank goodness, it is only a matter of time though!
Curt and I have some new developments on the horizon, post on that soon to come- No, it is not a baby! Yes, it does have to do with my job.... Amanda, I might be coming earlier than May, never know. I am still looking for tickets though!
Oh, and I will post pictures on my new blog win from Mommy Doodles when it arrives. How I love to win stuff and now I am addicted to entering blogger contests!

PS- The spell check is messed up and I am a horrible speller, so if you get some mis-spelled words, nevermind me I went with band instead of spelling class- BAD idea!
